November 16th - Reflection

Matthew 24:45-51 (NRSV)
Parable of the unfaithful slave
"Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their allowance of food at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work when he arrives. Truly I tell you, he will put that one in charge of all his possessions. But if that wicked slave says to himself, 'My master is delayed,' and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and eats and drinks with drunkards, the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour that he does not know. He will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Reflection
It's a great time in the service of the Lord to be awarded further responsibility when you have been blessed by the Spirit to complete a great job. God gives us all the tools and talents we need to do the job. We need to make the effort to put those tools and talents freely given by God to use to the best ability we can.

It's an honor and a joy to be a servant in the kingdom of God. It's a blast of fun when Jesus shows up at your door each day with a few or a host of saints and invites you out to play in his kingdom. What an honor and joy this is. And just like a bunch of kids we get to laugh and play and giggle and tease and roll around in this world having fun while serving God. It's a great time in the service of the Lord. Thanks be to God!

Prayer
Lord, may I use all that you have given to me to go in your love to love my neighbor... today... tomorrow... and forever. --- Amen
