November 19th - Reflection

Psalm 95:1-7a (NRSV)
We are the people of God's pasture
O come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and the dry land, which his hands have formed.

O come, let us worship and bow down,
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.

Reflection
"I just want to be a sheep. Baa baa baa baa."

There is only one God. People tend to worship others things and objects as gods, but there is only one God who saves. God has saved us and is the one God. Look at the world and all that God has created. Peer out into space and see just the beginning of the universe and all that God has created. Stare into a microscope and see life that is smaller than the naked eye and all that God has created. Our God who saved us is a powerful God.

This is only the beginning of the nature of God. Knowing this we should fall to our knees in praise and thanksgiving that this One God would choose to save us! We are truly the "sheep of his pasture" and "the sheep of his hand." Thanks be to God!

Prayer
Lord I give you thanks and praise and all glory for all you do. You are my God and my salvation. That's awesome! --- Amen
