March 31st Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 24.32-51-Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.
Numbers 28-29-It will be a day for blowing trumpets.
Song of Solomon 8.5-14-Hurry, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices.
Philippians 2.5-11-...so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
--- --- ---
I am with you, here and now and forever.
---
A sunset behind some storm clouds. Makes me think of Jesus. Light through the clouds. Makes me think of Jesus' presence with me in the storms of life and in the good times. Jesus seems to be telling me He will always be present with me. He is my God. He is faithful. Since I am His, He is with me here and now and forever. I can't deny His presence. I acknowledge His salvation. Sometimes I get a kick out of people who get all caught up in this "Left Behind" stuff. Jesus never said if left behind was a bad thing or not. He just says one will be taken and one will be left. The one taken...taken where? The one left...left where? But if I'm taken or left, I think the point is that if I believe and place my hope and trust and faith in Him, whether I'm taken or left, I will be with Him. And that's what I want. I want to be with Jesus, whether taken or "left behind." When Jesus is with me, every day is a day to blow the trumpets. To announce a celebration of His glory. To stop the routine and notice His presence, notice His Love. I want to be with Jesus. And I hear in these passages that He will be with me here and now and wherever forever. So when I think about His presence, yearn for Him to come quickly. Come quickly Lord Jesus. Come to me. Be in me, of me and all of me. Come into my heart Lord Jesus. Hurry, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountains of spices. For whether here and now or taken or left behind all will know that in Your presence all who are in heaven and earth or under the earth will confess Jesus' name to the glory of God the Father. Yes, Lord Jesus come quickly and take me or leave me behind but always stay with me I pray.
--- --- ---
Come quickly Lord Jesus and be with me either left behind or taken, be with me, for you are my Savior and I confess your glory now and forever. ---Amen

March 30th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 24.1-31-...and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.
Numbers 25-27-Go up to this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the sons of Israel. When you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people...
Song of Solomon 6.4-8.4-How beautiful and how delightful you are, My love, with all your charms!
Psalm 31.9-16-I say, "You are my God."
--- --- ---
Continue on in My Kingdom, knowing I will return in glory.
---
I think Jesus wants us to go on with life in His Kingdom. Day after day, knowing that He will someday return in glory. We will some day see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. But we need to continue on in His Kingdom day after day. It won't be long until God decides to take us up His mountain. Up high in the clouds of His glory and show us the Promised Land. It won't be long until God shows us the glory and we are gathered with His people. That will be the day. But for now. Continue on in His Kingdom, serving, loving and holding all hope in His salvation.
---
In His salvation, Jesus is beautiful. Beautiful beyond all beauty. Jesus is beautiful and delightful and charming. More charming than anything else. And He promises to return in glory. What anticipation He builds deep in my soul. But He tells me today, to continue on in His Kingdom. Day after day. Continue on in the confidence that His Word will be fulfilled. Continue on in His Kingdom. And I say, "You are my God!" You are my God!
--- --- ---
Jesus, You are my God! I will continue on this day in Your Kingdom in the hope, and knowledge of Your glorious return. ---Amen

March 29th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 23.13-39-Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.
Numbers 23.27-24.25-One from Jacob shall have dominion...
Song of Solomon 5.2-6.3-His head is like gold, pure gold...
Isaiah 50.4-9a-He awakens Me morning by morning, he awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.
--- --- ---
See the endless waters of baptism, My life-giving water---My ever-lasting, eternal supply of grace.
---
A picture of the Atlantic Ocean from a vacation taken a couple of years ago. Whenever I look at the ocean I can't help but to feel humble in the presence of God. Then when I think of my baptism and the gift of grace God freely gives I stand in awe of God. How compassionate He is. When Jesus spoke the words about Jerusalem, He knew what was about to happen to Him. He knew He would suffer and die. He knew that He would take on and become the sin that I am. He knew that only by taking on and becoming my sin and dying would He finally defeat sin. He knew, yet He still had compassion for me. Wanted to gather all people under His wing and care for them. And in taking on sin and in becoming sin, He did. Jesus has dominion over sin, death and the devil. Jesus is the King of Kings. Jesus is the Lord of Lords. Jesus is our Savior. His head is like gold to me, pure gold. His head is even much more precious that gold to me. Jesus is my Savior. Jesus is my life. Jesus in my King. He became sin for me. For me! Thanks be to God! Oh how I long to awaken morning my morning and hear His voice. I see, I feel, I know of the endless waters of my baptism. Day by day. I see, I feel, I know of the eternal grace. Jesus became my sin on that cross. Jesus died for me. Jesus, my King!
---
Lord, I look to You this day---I listen---I give thanks---I worship You---You are my King! --- Amen

March 28th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 23.1-12-Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.
Numbers 22.41-23.26-Behold, I have received a command to bless...
Song of Solomon 3.6-5.1-How beautiful you are!
Habakkuk 3.2-15-His splendor covers the heavens, and the earth is full of His praise.
--- --- ---
There is abundant beauty in the smallest and most humble of My blessings.
---
A picture taken in the mountains. A small, humble yet strikingly beautiful creation of God. Easily goes unnoticed, unless you stop and look carefully. It reminds me of how God wants me to be; humble. When I am humble that is when I am most exalted. God clothes us with the beauty only He can provide. Balaam was instructed by Balak to curse the Israelites. But Balaam, as a prophet, spoke God's Word. God's Word was a blessing and not a curse. Balaam could do no other. Balaam, humbled by a talking donkey, blessed the Israelites. How beautiful you are when you are humble. How beautiful you are in humility as God covers the heavens and the earth is full of His praise. Humble yourself and live. Live in the humility and love of Jesus.
--- --- ---
Lord, I humble myself this day---I see Your beauty and power. I see You, Creator of the universe. I am humbled. ---Amen

March 27th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 22.23-46-...nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him another question.
Numbers 22.1-40- The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden all your life to this day?"
Song of Solomon 2.8-3.5-Have you seen him whom my soul loves?
Exodus 40.1-15-You shall put the holy garments on Aaron and anoint him and consecrate him, that he may minister as a priest to Me.
--- --- ---
I have a secret to tell you that you won't believe.
---
A picture of Steph. I'm not sure what this one is all about. She appears to have just heard a secret.
---
The religious authorities of Jesus' day were always trying to trick Him with questions. Trying to trick Him and trip Him up. But they couldn't. Finally they gave up. They couldn't figure out the secret Jesus must have in always being able to give an answer that avoided accusation.
---
The donkey had a secret that Balaam couldn't figure out. There was an angel around that the donkey could see but Balaam couldn't. Finally when the donkey spoke to Balaam, Balaam was able to see the angel. I suppose after that Balaam had a secret that he may have wanted to keep. He heard a donkey talk and was scolded by a donkey.
---
We have a secret that we need to let out. We HAVE seen the one whom our soul loves. We have seen Jesus. Day after day I see Jesus present in this world. In things and people and places. In His Word daily we can see Jesus, the one who we love.
---
And the funny thing about this secret is, that in knowing this secret, Jesus clothed us as called ministers, to go out daily and work in His Kingdom. Day after day, Jesus sends us, walks with us and leads us to minister to those we meet. To minister in action with the skills He has given us. To work in His Kingdom. It's such a joy to wear these garments and serve Him! Jesus, no longer a secret, but a gift from heaven. Tell the world this secret!
--- --- ---
Lord, thank You for clothing me---thank You for sending me---thank You for revealing Yourself to me---thank You! ---Amen

March 26th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 22.1-22-But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes, and he said to him, "Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?" And the man was speechless.
Numbers 21-Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live."
Song of Solomon 1.1-2.7-He has brought me to his banquet hall, and his banner over me is love.
Luke 1.26-38-The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you...
--- --- ---
Put on the clothes of My grace and be joyous at the Wedding Feast.
---
This is an old picture of the family from a couple of years back. I want to think it was at the Wedding Reception of my nephew Matt. But I'm not real sure about that.
---
Jesus tells a parable about a King inviting guests to a wedding feast. One person attending didn't wear the wedding clothes. This person was kicked out. You and I have been invited to a Wedding Feast also. A Wedding Feast of God. He has invited us to the party. He will clothe us with His Love and Grace at His Wedding Feast. This Wedding Feast is the party of salvation freely offered to all. Jesus has invited you and I to party with Him at His victorious Wedding Feast of the Lamb. Will you choose to wear the wedding clothes He has provided? Will you accept the Love and Grace and the gifts of the Spirit He provides? It's up to you. But, I have to look at the parable once again and realize the consequences. Take the invitation and proudly wear the clothes He has provided.
---
At this Wedding Feast, I can see How Jesus has overcome sin and death. God told Moses to provide a snake on a pole for the people to look at and be healed from snake bite. We all have been snake bitten by sin. We all need to look at that pole. We have been given the Cross of Jesus Christ to look at and be healed from our snake bite of sin. In our focus on Jesus on the Cross we can see what a price He paid for our salvation. We can see His Love for us. We can rejoice in that invitation to the Wedding Feast of Salvation through seeing Christ on that Cross.
---
Through that Cross, Jesus has invited us to the banquet. And at that banquet, at that Wedding Feast, we are given freely His banner of Love. Covered in His Love, and clothed with the wedding clothes of His Love.
---
And we are called. Mary was called and we are called too. Not only will we be clothed at that Wedding Feast with salvation and Love, but we will also be given power from the Holy Spirit. How awesome will that Feast be?
---
Now having been invited to the feast. Having seen Christ on the Cross. Having seen the Love of Salvation through His death and resurrection. Having been clothed with the banner of His Love. Having been given the power from the Holy Spirit. Will you decide to wear the clothes? Will you attend the Feast in the Spirit of Joy? I will! Hope to see you there.
--- --- ---
Lord, You are amazing. You are Loving. You provide for me daily. You clothe me with the clothes of Your salvation. Let's walk together this day. Show me the way You want me to be. Show me the way You want me to act. Show me the way You want me to love. I proudly wear the clothes You have so lovingly and graciously provided. ---Amen

March 25th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 21.28-46-Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it.
Numbers 19-20-Because you have not believed Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.
Ecclesiastes 11.9-12.14-The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.
John 12.1-8-Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
---
---
Especially while in your pain and sin, broadcast my loving, saving grace to the world.
---
This is a picture of a Christian Church that is on the route I take when walking the dogs. Notice the steeple of the church is extended by a radio tower in the background. It strikes me that the steeple seems to be part of the broadcast tower communicating to the community and surrounding area. Sure, those people inside that church are sinners. Just as I'm a sinner. But even in sin and pain, I hear Jesus telling me to broadcast His message of love and grace and salvation.
---
I know I will be judged someday. And I know that on my own merit I fall short. Way short. But I also know that I have a Savior who took on that sin for me to save me from death. And in my Savior Jesus I lay all my hope. This doesn't mean that I turn around and go out and sin freely. It means that I struggle with my sin. I try to not sin. I also, day after day, turn to my Savior and follow Him. Follow Him knowing that He is the only one who can overcome sin. Follow Him knowing that He died for my sin. Follow Him and respond to His call, day after day.
---
Moses struck the rock that God had commanded him to use to bring water to the people in the desert. But Moses goofed it up. Moses sinned in taking credit for the water from the rock. Moses struck the rock and made it look like he was the savior of the people. Only God can be the Savior. Not me, not Moses, not anyone. Only God. Through Jesus I am saved. Not through any action of my own, only through Jesus. The consequence is death. Sure I will suffer the consequence of my sin. Moses was denied entry into the Promised Land because of his sin at the rock. But God provides an eternal way to salvation through Jesus.
---
So what of all this. Mary is the answer. She took some expensive perfume, humbled herself, and washed the feet of Jesus. Mary knew that Jesus was her Savior. Mary knew how to humble herself in her sin. Mary shows us the way to worship. Oh how I love Mary! In Mary's action is my example of how to respond to this Savior of mine who died for my sin. And like the church in the picture---a church full of sinners---the message can be broadcast to all the community. Jesus is your Savior. Jesus and only Jesus. Especially while in your pain and sin, broadcast His loving, saving grace to the whole world. And the smell of that sweet, wonderful perfume of Grace will fill the entire house. Thanks be to God!
---
---
Lord, I humble myself in my sin. I turn to You for forgiveness. I love You dearly and wash your feet with my hair. May the message of Your sweet smelling Grace fill my world this day so that all may turn to you for salvation. ---Amen

March 24th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 21.1-27-"Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me."...The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on the coats.
Numbers 17-18-Now on the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds.
Ecclesiastes 11.1-8-The light is pleasant, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.
Philippians 3.4b-14-I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
---
Sometimes the teeth look vicious but the dog is loving. This is Sadie, she looks and sounds like an attack dog. But Sadie is a loving house pet. Gentle and caring and loving. Looks can deceive.
Jesus told his disciple to get a donkey and a colt in the Matthew passage. This is for what we today call Palm Sunday. Matthew mentions a donkey and a colt. When I read this, I can't help but to think what a trick this must have been. They laid their coats on "them" and Jesus rode. How did He ride both of "them"? Some people like to debate all the fine details of this passage. You can research it and find out all sorts of possibilities. I could spend way too much time arguing and debating over the literal verses the meaning intended. I could focus on the "teeth" of the passage and miss out on the "whole dog" altogether. But I see today that Jesus rode triumphantly, yet humbly in service and love for me to His painful death in Jerusalem to give me life and salvation. Jesus rode humbly, yet triumphantly into Jerusalem for all the world to be saved from sin and death. Now there is the "whole dog" and not just the "teeth". Jesus took on the "teeth" of sin and death to save the world.
In the "teeth" of the cross, I am reminded of the rod of Aaron. Placed in the Ark of the Covenant as a reminder to me of the wood of the cross. The "teeth" of death and sin, that budded and produced the flowers of Life through Jesus. What's inside that box there. The Ark? It's the Law, the manna or the Bread of Life and the rod of Aaron. Law---Jesus in the Bread---Fruit of the wood. The heart of God is Law-Love-Fruit of Grace.
You see the "teeth" of the rod brings forth the Fruit of the blossoms of Life in the "whole dog".
Through the "teeth" of the cross, I am brought to the Light of Easter morning. That rising Son on that wonderful day that Jesus steps into this world in Life for all to see. Eternal Life. Life, promised and freely given to you and I through the "teeth" of the cross and bearing fruit in the buds of the wood of that cross through the Life of Jesus. A gift for you and for me. There is that love of the "whole dog". There is God's grace!
In this I respond and press on past the "teeth" of the dog, towards that prise of Life eternal in my Savior. Life eternal beginning now. Life with my Savior here on earth and in the world to come.
Don't let yourself get too wrapped up in all the detail of colts and donkeys and riding tricks. See past the "teeth" of the cross to the "whole dog" in the love and eternal life of our loving, compassionate, saving Christ. Our Savior , Jesus Christ, our Lord! Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, you have defeated the "teeth" of sin and death and changed that old cross into a symbol of joy and hope and salvation. I look forward to being with you now, this day and in eternity. ---Amen

March 23rd Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 20.17-34-And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" They said to Him, "Lord, we want our eyes to be opened." Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.
Numbers 15-16-"It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, so that you may remember to do all My commandments and he holy to your God.
Ecclesiastes 9.13-10.20-Wisdom is better than strength.
Psalm 126-The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad.
---
See how I serve. Now go and love and serve others likewise. A bear trapped in a pit that serves by begging for food. Puts on an act and is paid with food. Jesus allowed Himself to be trapped in my sin. He allowed Himself to serve me. It all seems so backwards. I am the guilty one. I am the one that deserves to be trapped and put in the pit. I am the sinful one that needs to do tricks for my food. But Jesus has compassion. Jesus opens my blind eyes and shows me that He takes my place. He takes my sin and the captivity I deserve and dies for me in my stead. Jesus takes on the commandments that I fail to keep and reminds me with His action in my place of the tassels for me to remember that His salvation is from Him. Salvation is nothing I deserve or can earn. I have failed at the salvation game and must have Jesus in the pit to save me from my sinful self. Jesus' Wisdom is better than strength. For in His compassion and love He opens the eyes of my heart and makes me see His grace, love, compassion, strength and service. Jesus has done a great and awesome thing for me and I am truly glad. I will even do a trick or two or three or more for Him. Now and forever more. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, You have shown me the way through captivity. You have shown me great love and compassion. Open my eyes today to see You clearly. Open my eyes to give compassion and love and service to those You place in my path today. ---Amen

March 22nd Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 20.1-16-Or is your eye envious because I am generous? So the last shall be first, and the first last.
Numbers 13-14-So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran at the command of the LORD...
Ecclesiastes 9.1-12-Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might...
Isaiah 43.16-21-I will even make a roadway in the wilderness...
---
"I have made a path through the wilderness. Walk it with Me." Jesus seems to be calling me in this way today. To walk a path in the wilderness with Him. Even though I may see a guard rail to stop me. Even though I may see trees in the way. Even though I may fear a drop off, Jesus has made a path through the wilderness and is ready to walk it with me. Jesus is ready to walk that path and encourage me along the way. Encourage me to use the gifts He has given me with all my might. To work with His gifts as though I am serving God. I hear the call of Moses to go from the wilderness and see the Promised Land. I am sent to see that land and bring back report. To encourage those I am with that they too can make it to the Promised Land. They too can walk that path Jesus has made to the Promised Land. They too can make it. Not of their own accord. They too can make it because Jesus has saved each and every one of us and has set the path in place. Jesus, in His grace, will walk that path with us to the Promised Land. You see the path is about Grace. And in the path it doesn't matter who is first or last. Grace and salvation is offered to all along the path to the Promised Land. Salvation for those with a short journey on the path with Jesus and salvation for those with a long journey on the path of salvation. I'm ready to jump the rail and walk that path with You today Lord. Let's go!
---
Lord, You give salvation. I'm ready to walk the path out of and through the wilderness with You this day. Maybe we can get a few to join us in our journey along the way. ---Amen

March 21st Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 19.16-30-Then who can be saved? And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Numbers 11-12-Now the people became like those who complain of adversity in the hearing of the LORD...
Ecclesiastes 8-A man's wisdom illumines him and cause his stern face to beam.
Revelation 19.9-10-Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
---
You must be born again. See how I will feed and care for you. Monday morning, real early, my grandson Jake helped deliver some puppies with his dog Peanut. Four puppies were born, only two lived. God tells me that I must be born again. God will feed me and care for me. God will help me grow and learn and live with him. Who can be saved. I can't save myself. I must depend on God to nurse me, feed me, care for me and save me. I'm like these puppies. I depend on God for life. I can't live without Him. I need Him, and only through God can I be saved.
In this salvation, I will struggle, but God cares for me all along the way. I don't need to complain in His hearing. He has worked out the plan. Sure it may not be pleasant at times. But rest assured God will do anything to save me and keep me. And when I finally get a glimpse of the wisdom of God my stern face will beam with joy. It will be an aha! moment. I will get a little bit of God opened to my mind and see how great He is. And finally, in the end, there is that invitation to the marriage supper of the Lamb. I will celebrate my new birth and the births of others with Jesus the Lamb of sacrifice and my Savior. What a day! What a birth!
As Jake feels proud for being part of the birth of new life in these puppies. We will celebrate Life abundant even more-so at the Feast of the Lamb. I can't wait! Thanks be to God for puppies! Thanks be to God for the Lamb! Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, I look to You to feed me and care for me and save me. Help me to grow in Your way. Send me to work for You this day in Your Kingdom. ---Amen

March 20th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 19.1-15-After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.
Numbers 9-10-Wait, and I will listen to what the LORD will command concerning you.
Ecclesiastes 7-The end of a matter is better than its beginning...
Revelation 19.1-8-Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God...
---
Steph with her bowling ball. She just finished her Senior year in High School Bowling. She had fun and gave her best in the competition. I think God gives us all talents and gifts of varying kinds. He wants us to strive to do our best with the gifts He gives us. To offer it all back in His service. Jesus was always using His hands to the good of others. Laying His hands on them and in the end opening His hands to save the world from sin. Jesus did His best. God offered His best to defeat sin, death and the devil. And a world was saved.
Sometimes life gets confusing. We don't know what is best. This is when we go to God in prayer. Wait and listen to what the Lord will command concerning us. Knowing that the end is better than its beginning. The end will complete the journey. The end includes the journey. And the journey must include God. Like bowling the final frame can be up to three balls. The end is better than the beginning and sets the stage in the competition. Sure the journey through the rest of the game is important. Offer your best all game long. But in the end, go out with a flurry. Listen and wait for the voice of God and obey. For in the end all the glory and power and might belong to God. Hallelujah! In listening and obedience God sets the stage for going out with the glory.
---
Lord, I work with all my might with the gifts and talents You have provided. But the end is Yours. I will be obedient this day. I will listen to Your guidance and trust You to take care of the end. ---Amen

March 19th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 18.18-35-Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My father who is in heaven.
Numbers 7-8- Now when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim, so He spoke to him.
Ecclesiastes 6-There is an evil which I have seen under the sun and it is prevalent amount men...
Matthew 1.16, 18-21, 24a- ...and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
---
Jesus is with us in the valley, on the mountain, and at our sides along every trail we travel. Along the trails we meet others. We introduce Jesus to them. We agree that He is our Savior and Lord. We agree and ask God to lead and guide us. And it is done. Agreements are agreements. One thing easy to agree on is the grace of God. It is a gift. A gift we graciously accept. An altar call of acceptance. Freely given by a God that walks that trail with us. A God that came to us first. A God that makes the first move in love. And we agree and accept that gift. Accept and respond in joy and thanksgiving and loving service to God all life. A new life in a God that runs to us and welcomes us as His, even with a kiss. A God that speaks to us from that mercy seat of the cross. A God that comes down to us and dies for us on the cross. A God that acts first. And I accept and respond. I listen to His voice. I hear His command. I accept His grace, respond and obey and listen. Avoid the evil of my selfishness and thinking that my action saves. It's not my action but God's action. God's action of love makes me love. And I call His name Jesus, because He saves His people from their sins. I accept, I respond, I act towards Your first action. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, You have acted throughout all time. You walk and have walked the trail with me and before me. I accept your grace in love. I respond to Your first action in joy, love, thanksgiving and service. You are my God and I hear Your altar call and voice from the mercy seat between the cherubim. Thanks be to God! ---Amen

March 18th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 18.1-17-And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, "Truly I say to you. unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Numbers 5-6-The LORD bless you, and keep you; the LORD make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.
Ecclesiastes 5-Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen...
Luke 15.1-3, 11b-32-But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
---
I can almost hear the roar of the water, as I reflect on this picture taken in early April in the mountains. It's not spring yet, but I sure am looking forward to it. I want to run and jump and play in the warmth of the mountains. I want to feel the cool waters and enjoy them. I can hear Jesus telling me in this picture to hear the roar of His life giving waters and rejoice. Rejoice daily in my baptism and hear His call day after day. In the waters God has converted me to become His child. In the daily waters and rebirth in baptism God calls me to die to my old self and live new in Him. And in this baptism, a gift from God, I am blessed. His face shines on me day after day. God has been so gracious to me. God gives me peace. And in His baptismal call I come to Him and listen. Listen carefully to his voice. Listen to His Fatherly advice. Listen.... Listen to the roar of the waters. Feel the grace of a loving, compassionate Father who sees me a long way off. Sees me in my sin and even then, runs to me, embraces me, kisses me and offers me salvation. Thanks be to God for the roar of love in the gift of His calling and the gift of His baptismal waters. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, I hear You calling. I feel the water. Drench me. Drown me. Pull me out of the water to new life in You. Day after day after day...forever and ever. I hear the roar of Your life giving water and rejoice! ---Amen

March 17th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 17-Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.
Numbers 3-4-According to the commandment of the LORD through Moses, they were numbered, everyone by his serving or carrying; thus these were his numbered men, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Ecclesiastes 3.16-4.16- All came from the dust and all return to the dust.
2 Corinthians 5.16-21-Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
---
Look forward in hope and see the Beauty of My resurrection. Out of the wilderness of Lent; out of the wilderness of my sin; out of the wilderness of my temptation; Jesus beckons me to look forward in hope to His Beauty and His resurrection. This is life. This is the vision given the disciples at the Transfiguration. They got a glimpse of the resurrection. A vision of the Beauty of God. A vision of our Messiah. But it wasn't time yet. Don't tell this vision yet. At least in that time. But now that He has risen. It's time to tell! It's time to look forward in hope. Even in sin; even in the wilderness; even in temptation; look forward in hope. Carry God with you all through the ups and down of life. Carry God with you through the valleys and over the mountains. Carry God as He has planned for you.
The Levites were given a detailed plan of how to carry God with them as they moved from the mountain towards the Promised Land. Likewise, we have Jesus to carry with us to the Promised Land. Look forward in hope and see the Beauty of Jesus in His resurrection. In His glory see Him and praise Him and carry Him right along with you all life. Carry Jesus in hope through the wilderness of sin, through the valley of temptation, through the darkness of death and look forward in hope to the Beauty in His resurrection.
Sure, I came from dust and to dust I shall return. But like this beautiful photo of flowers in Florida; I have become beautiful to God. In the beauty God gives, I can look forward in hope to the Beauty of His resurrection. I can see what God is doing in you, in your beauty and all He has given you. I can see what God is doing through me, in my beauty in all He has given me. I can see a new creature in Christ in you and in me. I can see the beauty of the flower enveloping my heart and the death and pain of Jesus' cross and my cross in the Beauty of His resurrection. Behold new things have come. Look forward in hope and see the Beauty of My resurrection. Thank you Jesus!
---
Lord, in you is Beauty and hope. I look forward in hope and see the Beauty of You in Your resurrection. ---Amen

March 16th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 16-Who do people say that the Son of Man is?
Numbers 1-2-Then the LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai...
Ecclesiastes 3.1-15-I know that everything God does will remain forever...
Psalm 32-You surround me with songs of deliverance.
---
Have you ever taken a picture of yourself? Here Sarah took her own picture. You're never really sure how it will turn out. Did you even get in the picture? What angle was the picture taken? There is some risk in this because you don't get a preview. Jesus sees us as His friend and He loves each of us. So when you look at yourself; know that Jesus loves you. This is a big deal! To have Jesus as a Friend and one who gives His very being for you. Who do people say that the Son of Man is? I'm not sure about the others; but I say my Friend and Savior. The One who loves me the most. My Friend who is with me even in the wilderness. When things are tough, my Friend Jesus is with me. In my Friend I know that everything He has done will remain forever. This salvation of His will stick! And in the love of this Friend I am surrounded with songs of deliverance. Thanks be to God! I see myself a little differently this way. I am His!
---
Lord, I'm Yours and I love You! ---Amen

March 15th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 15.21-39-So the crowd marveled as they saw the mute speaking, the crippled restored, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
Leviticus 26-27-These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the sons of Israel at Mount Sinai.
Ecclesiastes 1.12-2.26-This too is vanity and striving after wind.
Joshua 5.9-12- The manna ceased on the day after they had eaten some of the produce of the land...
---
We can't hide behind any mask or costume from God. God knows us. Knows us intimately. God knows what He has planned for us. So I marvel day after day at how I see God acting through those around me and how God acts through me. I marvel at how God acts in creation and the world. I marvel at how God reveals my sin through the Law. How God cares for my well being through His commands. God takes away my pessimism and my striving after the wind. God redirects my efforts when I realize that He is the One I worship and adore. And when I eat the fruit of reward, the manna of the desert is no longer needed. God has provided in the good times and through the bad times in His awesome Love. We can't hide behind any mask or costume from God. In this I give Him all the thanks and glory. For I know in my openness that He loves me.
---
God, I confess my sin---I am open and naked before You--- Forgive me and send me to work with You in Your Kingdom this day. ---Amen

March 14th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 15.1-20-After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said the them, "Hear and understand."
Leviticus 24-25-I am the LORD your God.
Ecclesiastes 1.1-11-All the rivers flow into the sea, yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, there they will flow again.
Psalm 39-Let me know how transient I am.
---
Life flows like a river into the sea. The journey is short. Take it with Me. Jesus seems to be calling this phrase to me this day. Jesus calls us to Him and commands us to "Hear and understand." His Words are important and life giving. Listen and understand. Jesus is the Lord our God. No other. My life must remain focused in Him. All rivers flow into the sea. Our lives are short in the whole scheme of things. So make them focused on the Savior. I am transient and God knows this and loves me so much that even in my short life He chooses to save me and use me in His Kingdom.
Life flows like a river into the sea. The journey is short. I will take that journey with my Savior, serving Him all the way.
---
Lord, I'm ready for another day in Your Kingdom. I'll paddle if You steer. ---Amen

March 13th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 14.22-36-But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him...
Leviticus 22-23- So Moses declared to the sons of Israel the appointed times of the LORD.
Proverbs 31-She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
Romans 2.12-16-...in that they show the work of the Law written on their hearts...
---
Pay no attention to the waves and the wind. Focus on Me, trust and believe. Jesus tells us to focus on Him. Even though the wind and the waves of life may be frightening. Only Jesus brings salvation for us. This life is just this life. There is so much more to life. Their are times of blessing, celebration and times to repent. There are appointed times of the Lord. Appointed times for worshiping God. Like the woman who opens her mouth in wisdom, she teaches kindness, I can see the kindness of Jesus as he immediately stretches out His arms in salvation and takes hold of me. My response is to have His Laws written on my hearts. Action in response to a deep deep love beyond understanding. Action and trust and belief in the One who saves. I can then receive my Daily Bread in Jesus my Savior. Like the geese above, in trust and hope they travel and live, day to day, trusting on the outstretched reach of God. I too must trust in His reach. He has reached clear down here for me and for you. Immediately reached for us in kindness. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, let me have Your hand. Grab hold of me, I'm sinking and need you! ---Amen

March 12th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 14.1-21-He sent and had John beheaded in the prison. And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.
Leviticus 20-21-I will also set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given some of his offspring to Molech, so as to defile My sanctuary and to profane My holy name.
Proverbs 30-Neither have I learned wisdom, nor do I have the knowledge of the Holy One.
Romans 2.1-11-For there is no partiality with God.
---
Jesus will not cut me off if I follow Him. His love is great. Jesus doesn't come to cut people off of his list. Jesus comes to add to the list. Jesus comes to each one of us to save us and love us and give us life. Herod gave John the Baptist death. Herod had John beheaded. But in this death, Jesus reversed the death to life for John. Jesus gives life. Men try to give death to one another, but Jesus gives life.
Likewise as people would sacrifice their children to Molech a false God. God steers us away from all that. God doesn't want such a sacrifice. He does want us to sacrifice our lives to Him, but that sacrifice brings life not death.
How hard it is to understand the wisdom of God. God is beyond what I can fathom. But I can see that God gives life not death. I can choose to believe or turn and run from God. God will not show partiality. He wants to give me life even when I choose to run. So I must see the Love of God and choose Him.
God does not cut off and grant death. God came in Jesus to give life. Jesus chose life for me, so I choose to give my life to Him. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, send me I pray in this new life you have given me to serve You in Your Kingdom. ---Amen

March 11th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 13.24-58-"So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Have you understood all these things?" They said to Him, "Yes."
Leviticus 19-You shall rise up before the gray headed and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God; I am the LORD.
Proverbs 29-The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.
Luke 13.1-9-...unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
---
We set our clocks forward last night in preparation for the time change. I often wonder what time it would be at that very instant that it is set forward. What if Jesus returned at that time. We wouldn't know the time then. What time is it at that moment. Time is a funny thing when you think about it. It is mentioned here as the "end of the age." Seems vague. Maybe so on purpose. Does it really matter what time it is then? I don't think so. It will be time for the sorting to begin. Funny how I sin and try to sort people out for God ahead of time. Sort out who I think is the "good" and who is the "bad." But in this I sin. I need to worry about "Bill" not others. I need to understand that the sorting taking place involves me too. I need to love all people and let God do the sorting. I sin when I sort. God wants me to honor those who have stood through time. The gray headed are full of wisdom and life and knowledge and hope. Learn from them and see how God has been active in their lives and apply what I learn to my own life. Trust in God who is beyond all time. And above all else see and smell the stench of my sin and repent. I need God to save me in that sorting beyond all time. I don't have time to worry about sorting others myself. I don't have time to sort others because I have enough to take care of myself. So I will forgive them instead of sorting them. I will repent and beg forgiveness. I will bear fruit for my Lord and Savior the rest of my time. Well it's time to move on.
---
Lord, forgive me and save me I pray. ---Amen

March 10th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 13.1-23- And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.
Leviticus 17-18-Thus you are to keep My charge, that you do not practice any of the abominable customs which have been practiced before you, so as not to defile yourselves with them; I am the LORD your God.
Proverbs 28-He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.
1 Corinthians 10.1-13-No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
---
Make My Love visible. Jesus calls me and you to make His Love visible to the world we live in. I often wonder about how we measure things. Above is a measurement of temperature and humidity. For the most part it is a measurement of things that can't be seen. In our response to Jesus Love we make visible this measurement of things unseen. We make our faith and love visible to the world we live in. How is this faith measured? Is there a reading somewhere like with temperature and humidity? Then if you do measure, will I be suspect to thinking that a higher number will make me more delightful in the eyes of God? Maybe there isn't a need to measure this.
Maybe part of what Jesus is trying to tell by the Parable of the Soil is that if I receive His gift of faith and love, the results will bear fruit and His Love will be shown in that fruit through me. Don't worry about the measurement part of it. Just bear the fruit and be thankful for the faith God provides.
In the Leviticus passage I see the response to forgiveness of sin. I need to be careful of my actions. I am without a doubt guilty of some of those sins mentioned in this passage but the point may be for me to move on from that, forgiven and blessed with the joyful faith freely given to me and bear fruit in Love once again.
Move on and bear fruit, confess my sin, forsake it and find compassion. Only one of us is perfect and it ain't me or you! So I will trust that Perfect One that I won't be tempted beyond what I can endure, and that I will be given the faith needed to bear the fruit of His Love in His Kingdom day after day as a forgiven sinner.
---
Lord, I'm not perfect. I sin. Forgive my sin. Give me faith and feed me in Your Truth to bear Your Fruit of Love in Your Kingdom this day. ---Amen

March 9th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 12.22-50-And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them...
Leviticus 15-16-Then Aaron shall lay both of his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel and all their transgressions in regard to all their sins; and he shall lay them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who stands in readiness.
Proverbs 27-Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Psalm 63.1-8-O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You...
---
Walk with Me, let's talk a while. Jesus walks with me through life. Talking to me in so many ways. In this photo, I see an interstate, some radio towers and a bird in flight above the river. All symbols of God with me. Jesus goes with me in the here and now. As I travel each day on this interstate, to and from work, to and from home, to and from hospitals, Jesus is with me all the way. As I communicate through the invisible airwaves, I pray to God each and every day, all day long. Jesus talks with me and walks with me through life. Jesus knows my thoughts. He came in my form as a human years ago and knows just what it's like to be me. He knows how I think and even what I think. I can't avoid my walk with Jesus. Jesus is both that scapegoat sent to carry my sin into the wilderness, and He is that goat that the blood was offered in His death at the altar of God. Jesus is both to me. Jesus talks with me and walks with. In Jesus humanity, he sharpens me as iron sharpens iron. Jesus walks with me and talks to me all through life. And finally in this I can fly high above the waters of the river of life. Soar in joy and thanksgiving for my Savior, Jesus, who wants to walk with me and talk to me all my life. O God, You are my God, I will seek You earnestly, my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You. I want so much to walk and talk with you a while this day!
---
Lord Jesus, I wanna walk and talk with You this day in Your Kingdom. Let's go! ---Amen

March 8th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 12.1-21-But Jesus aware of this, withdrew from there. Many followed Him, and He healed them all...
Leviticus 14-So the priest shall make atonement on his behalf before the LORD.
Proverbs 26-He who digs a pit will fall into it...
Isaiah 55.1-9-Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.
---
Road construction on the way to and from the gym. The road is closed to through traffic. They are going to widen this road to handle more traffic. My life in Jesus is under construction also. Sometimes the road is closed to through traffic. Jesus stops me in my tracks to tear me down and widen my road so that more traffic can travel through me. Jesus may be healing me. Jesus may be teaching me. Jesus may be preparing me for ministry in His Kingdom. Jesus cared for and loved people so much He even healed them on the Sabbath. Thanks be to God that Jesus healed on the Sabbath. Then he withdrew for a little down time for Himself. Withdrew in prayer. Talked with His Father many many times. Made atonement for the leprosy of our sins before the Father, even to the point of giving His life for our sin. In sin I dig a pit and fall into it. But, even on the Sabbath, as Jesus acted, He lovingly helps and pulls this lost sheep from the pit. And in this road construction, I will seek the Lord while He is near. Listen and heed His voice.
---
Lord, stop me and work on me today to make me fit for the work You have planned for me. May I be an open road then to show the way to Your love to all the world. ---Amen

March 7th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 11.20-30-Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
Leviticus 13- But whenever raw flesh appears on him, he shall be unclean.
Proverbs 25-Have you found honey? Eat only what you need, that you not have it in excess and vomit it.
2 Chronicles 20.1-22-You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the LORD is with you...Give thanks to the LORD, for His loving kindness is everlasting.
---
Let Me fight the battle. Just trust Me. God wants me to trust Him to the battle. To stand and see His salvation. To give Him all the praise, thanks and glory. God fights my battles, not I. He wins the victory and I give Him thanks for this. This is a picture of some birds on the Miami river. God takes care of them. Provides food and water. Fights the battle for them. Jesus fought the battle over sin and death. Like leprosy, sin is a spreading disease. Only God can cleanse sin and make me clean. God provides not only food and water for the body but also salvation for the soul over death and sin. God fights the battle. If I take in the spoils of His victory and eat too much honey. I just may begin to think that I really won the battle with my own strength. Too much of this and I will vomit. It's not about me. It's about God's victory. I am here to praise God and realize the victory is His. Look how the birds seem to be praising God. They soar on the winds of God's provision. They live on the abundance of water God gives. The birds even praise God for the gifts and victory they have received. So much more I praise God for victory. When burdens seem overwhelming. When disease and pain seem to overtake. When sin and death attack. Let God fight the battle. Do not be dismayed or fear. Go out and face the battle. God will be with you. Let God fight the battle. His loving kindness is everlasting. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, forgive me for my fear and doubt. Let me trust in You and let You fight the battle. Your loving kindness is everlasting. ---Amen

March 6th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 11.1-19-This is the one about whom it is written, 'Behold, I send My messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'
Leviticus 11-12-...to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean...
Proverbs 24-A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power.
Numbers 14.10b-24-...but indeed, as I live, all the earth will be filled with the glory of the LORD.
---
I have paved the way. Walk with me. Jesus, seems to be calling me to His way. To walk with Him. This is a bike path that runs by the Miami River. It is one of my favorite paths to ride bikes on. Clear of traffic, the mind can take in the beauty of all surroundings. It is paved and easy to travel. John the Baptist did the paving years ago. Told me to repent. Turn from my sin and focus on the Messiah, Jesus. A man in the wilderness doing the hard work. Making a distinction between the clean and the unclean. Calling the unclean to repent and turn around. Calling and directing the unclean to the pure Clean in Jesus. Jesus, the wise man who came not wielding the power that humans tend to abuse but wielding the power of love and knowledge of God and His ways. A strong man with a new power. The power to save. Jesus---Jesus who will give glory to God and fill the earth. A paved path has been established. I have paved the way. Walk with me.
---
Gladly, Lord Jesus, I walk with you---gladly! ---Amen

March 5th Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 10.26-42-Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
Leviticus 9-10-...for today the LORD will appear to you.
Proverbs 23-Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Exodus 33.1-6-I will send an angel before you...
---
Mrs. Edward Deeds began a tradition in 1942 of an Easter Sunrise Service to bring the Dayton area community together for a nondenominational service at these Carrilon Park Bell Tower. I have been passing by these bells twice a week for more than a month now as I took Sarah to the Miami Valley Hospital for ECT treatments. This time I had to stop. I had to stop and think about the perfection of the sound of a bell. The perfect sine wave of sound produced. I had to stop and reflect on how God cares for each one of us. Cares for all of us. Tells me not to be afraid. Gives me strength to carry on. Provides hope for a future. And blesses me with angels sent before me as I go into battle. This past month God has set an angel in the car with me on each and every trip. Sent an angel with me up the elevator, into the waiting room. Sent me an angel to visit before and after every procedure. Sent me an angel to side step me from myself and focus my attention on that angel and the God who sent her. Some perfect bells, with perfect tone, and a beautiful tower gathering Christians in Easter tradition for the community. And for me a perfect angel that keeps me focused on God. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, ---Thanks for appearing to me in an angel. --Amen

March 4th Daily Word and Visions from God

March 4th Daily Word and Visions from GodMatthew 10.1-25-Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.
Leviticus 7-8-Thus Aaron and his sons did all the things which the LORD had commanded through Moses.
Proverbs 22-The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside; I will be killed in the streets!"
Luke 13.31-35-Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day...
---
Wear the gloves of my protection and do the hard work I send you to do. Jesus seems to be telling me this today. Jesus provides the protection I need to do the hard work. He sends us out as sheep in the midst of wolves, to work in His Kingdom. Sometimes life isn't easy. Sometimes you have to put on the gloves for the battle. I have been going to the gym the past year and a half or so to battle my struggle with diabetes. Diet and exercise. It's not all that easy. I have noticed from the lifting machines the toll that has been taken on my hands. So I bought these gloves for a little protection. Jesus is my protection in life. Jesus provides all the protection I need in the struggle. I need to take on the challenges set before me and not fear the lions in the streets. Take on the struggle and not be the sluggard with an excuse. Depend on the protection God provides and do what He commands. I must journey on with Christ today, tomorrow and the next day. That's life sometimes. But I know that there is protection and hope. I know there is Life in Christ. I know that my focus must be on Christ and the love He calls me to carry out for others in this world. No matter how hard the struggle. Thanks be to God!
---
Lord, you prepare me for battle, protect, guide, lead and send me this day to do your will. ---Amen

March 3rd Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 9.18-38-Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.
Leviticus 5-6-Then he shall bring to the priest his guilt offering to the LORD, a ram without defect from the flock, according to your valuation, for a guilt offering, and the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be forgiven for any on of the things which he may have come to incur guilt.
Proverbs 21-The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the LORD.
Philippians 3.17-4.1-For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
---
Arm & Hammer. I went to the Internet and did a little research on this logo. Too much information. Anything from the Roman god Vulcan, to Armand Hammer, to the Socialist Labor Party, to the Communist Party to Al Gore. But the strong arm does remind me that I need God's strong arm to help, lead, guide and save me. I need the compassion of Jesus to help me through life. I need Jesus to heal me bodily and from my sinful self. But I also need to be aware of my place and position. I need to see my sin. I need to repent. I need to respond to His forgiveness and grace. I need to live with Jesus as my one and only God. Depend on Jesus' strong arm to go as my priest and make atonement for me before the Lord. Then I also need to be thankful and prepare for that ongoing battle against sin, death and the devil. Prepare and gain strength but always know that the victory belongs to God alone. For my "real" citizenship is in heaven. And I eagerly wait for Jesus who will transform me by his almighty arm of power and strength.
---
Lord, I need Your strong arm to help, lead, guide and save me. I confess my sin to you and humbly await Your strength to change my life. You are God and in only You is the victory. ---Amen

March 2nd Daily Word and Visions from God

Matthew 9.1-17-Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?
Leviticus 3-4-...and all the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.
Proverbs 20-Do not say, "I will repay evil"; wait for the LORD and He will save you.
Psalm 27-Wait for the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD.
---
Wait and trust. Wait and trust. Only God can save. Only God can save. The religious leaders of Jesus day were always trying to open a can of worms with Jesus. They were always trying to trick Him and find ways to expose Jesus faults. But Jesus had no faults. Jesus knew the way. Jesus was the way. Why is your Teacher eating with tax collectors and sinners? What is wrong with your Teacher Jesus? He hangs with the wrong crowd. Jesus hangs with this crowd and with you and me because He came to save sinners. He came to have his Blood poured at the base of the altar, that cross of Jesus. Jesus didn't come to repay evil with evil but to save us from evil. I can't do anything to save myself from evil but wait for Jesus. I need to take faith, be strong of heart and courage and wait for Jesus to save. Wait and trust. Wait and trust. Only God can save. Only God can save. And that's the can Jesus has decided to open. The can of my salvation. I will rejoice and be glad!

Lord, I wait and trust in you. I wait for you to open the can of my soul and save me. Then release the contents of your salvation in me to Your Kingdom. ---Amen

Matthew 8.14-34-And they came to Him and woke Him, saying,"save us, Lord; we are perishing!"
Leviticus 1-2-...he shall offer it, a male without defect...
Proverbs 19-He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is careless of conduct will die.
Genesis 15.1-12, 17-18-Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, terror and great darkness fell upon him.

Come with Me my friend, and see My beauty. I can hear Jesus saying these words to me this day. Sometimes even I can display some beauty. Like the flowers of this cactus. Sometimes even in my dryness, I can produce a flower of joy. But I am covered by needles that hurt. Hurt Jesus and others who come to see my few display of beauty. My sin covers me and I am unapproachable. Unlike Jesus, His beauty is approachable. I stand in awe of Him. And He continues to accept me, thorns, tough skin, flowers and all. Jesus invites me to come to Him and saves me while I'm perishing. Since Jesus is that perfect sacrifice, a male without defect, I can come to Him and He saves me. Giving His life for mine; He allows me to come to him, thorns and all. Gives me a second chance to keep the commandments. Takes away the terror of the darkness of my sin and renews me with a flower of joy and faith. Come with Me my friend, and see My beauty. I come my Savior! I come!

Lord, thank you for inviting me out of myself, my sinful self, to come with you. To leave my place and come with You out into Your Kingdom. ---Amen
