September 30th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer

Hymn of the Day
Holy God, holy and living one, life that never ends, you show your love by dying, dying for your friends, and we behold you living. ("Holy God, Holy and Glorious" - Text:Susan R. Briehl, b. 1952)
--- --- ---

Readings of the Day
Jude-But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
Ezra 9-10-But now for a brief moment grace has been shown for the LORD our God, to leave us an escaped remnant and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our bondage.
Psalm 95-O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods, in whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who make it, and His hands formed the dry land.
Luke 16.19-31-And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.
--- --- ---

God's Word of the Day
My Love crossed that chasm for you, to give you forgiveness and life.
--- --- ---

Psalm of the Day
There is such a difference between me and You O Lord.
The gap seems too much to cross.
The chasm is too wide for me.
But You have sent Jesus to cross this gap.
You sent Jesus into my world.
You sent Jesus in love and compassion to experience my life.
You sent Jesus for me.
My bridge to You is only through Jesus.
Through Jesus, You have granted me forgiveness and life.
Jesus died for me.
Jesus became my friend.

Hear my prayer dear Lord.
You build my faith and equip me.
Send Your Spirit, I pray.
Lead and guide me in this life till that day I cross over through Jesus Love.
Enlighten my eyes and show me what to do.
I rejoice and sing praises to You.
You are the creator of all.
You are the Divine One who crossed the chasm.
Crossed over to be one with me and make me one with You.
From the seas, to the mountains, to the valleys, You travel with me.
You travel with me and walk me home across the bridge to You.
--- --- ---

Prayer of the Day
I thank You Lord for sending Jesus. For sending Him to walk with me in this life and the next. I thank You Lord for sending Your Spirit, to lead and guide me along the way. Hear my praise of glory and honor to You this day. ---Amen

Up and down and all around, my life goes.

I repent and ask You to change me.
I join with Your faithful.

We approach Your throne of glory together.
We approach the foot of that cross.
We kneel down.
We slowly raise our gaze.
We see the glory and love of Jesus.
We see salvation.
I know of others that approach that cross too.
We, together, surround the throne.
We join as one in a sweet communion of love and grace.

Crucified on the cross we now gaze upon.
You forgive us and give us Life.
You permit us to enter Your Temple of Love and repair lives.
We repair lives and join together in Your Love.
We commune, we worship, we sing and praise Your glory.
Your anger withdraws and...

Hand in hand and kneeling together...
We give You all praise and glory and see Your loving, risen, saving face.

September 15th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer

Hymn of the Day
Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor trials in the present, nor any trial to come, neither height, nor depth, nor all of creation can ever separate us from the love of God poured out in Christ Jesus, our Lord. All of the suffering we now must endure is nothing to the glory so soon to be revealed when creation itself is set free. Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor trials in the present, nor any trial to come, neither height, nor depth, nor all of creation can ever separate us from the love of God poured out in Christ Jesus, our Lord. ("Neither Death nor Life" - Text:Marty Haugen, b. 1950, based on Romans 8)

I seek rest in Your presence.
Sometimes I struggle with my sin and doubt.

Then I think of those times You prayed through the night.

When You wrestle the struggle away from me.
When I give it over to You.
The struggle disappears and action and blessing sets in.
The path becomes clear. The direction obvious.
It's all about You and what You have done.
It's not about my will but about Your will.
I lay down my life for You and give it back to You.
My life is Yours after all anyway.

Help me always to put my will aside for Yours.

O Christ, the healer, we have come to pray for health, to plead for friends. How can we fail to be restored when reached by love that never ends? ("O Christ, the Healer, We Have Come" – Text: Fred Pratt Green, 1903-2000)

God’s Word of the Day
I am your audience. You have seen what I have done out of love for you. Worship and love is what I desire.
--- --- ---

Psalm of the Day
I sit on the porch of Your wonderful creation.
I hear the song of birds.
I see the movement of animals, trees and wind all praising Your greatness.
Yet sometimes when I worship, it seems I have it all turned around.
Forgive me as I return to the heart of worship.
I see how worship is all about You.
I offer my sacrifice to You.
You are my God and to You I sing.
I desire nothing but You and You alone.
All creation returns praise to You and I join in.
I join in with Your creatures in praise to Your greatness.
You are an awesome God above all.
Please accept my humble offerings.
I have returned to the heart of worship and truly found that it’s all about You.

Prayer of the Day
Lord, You are God. You, I praise. You, I turn to. You are the door to Life. It’s all about and through You.
Lord, You are God! ---Amen
