Psalm 2
Why do the nations conspire,
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and his anointed, saying,
‘Let us burst their bonds asunder,
and cast their cords from us.’
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord has them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
‘I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.’
I will tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, ‘You are my son;
today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron,
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.’
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
with trembling kiss his feet,
or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way;
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Happy are all who take refuge in him.
Reflection
Is the entire world against you O Lord?
Evil plots and schemes to take what you have created.
The devil knocks at the door of all souls of all people.
His desire is to possess and control all your children.
Any revolt against you has no basis Lord.
The powers of evil and their plans are all in vain.
Even though you come under attack;
your position is one of power and honor and glory.
You permit their evils plans to unfold and give them time.
You alone can allow their plans to mature.
But your justice will rule in the end.
Yes, you will send a King, a Savior, Jesus.
We hear the echo of your voice from heaven.
This is my Son! The One who will save.
You send the Gift to all your people.
The One and only gift that will save.
Glory to God the Father!
Honor to Jesus the Son!
Praise to the Holy Spirit!
Our eternal God!
I present to you a song of the Beauty of our Savior

Prayer
As all nations, rulers, kings and people fall to the foot of the cross of Jesus; may we glory in your love and grace. For you alone rule this world and all your people... you alone... today... tomorrow... and forever. --- Amen
