May 23rd Reflection by Bill Lynch

John 16:12-15
New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

Reflection
God's work is not done here. We are here to be vessels that draw nearer to the completion the work that God has planned in this world in the time frame God has set. But, God doesn't leave us alone to figure all of the work we are to being doing, he sends the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.

The Spirit guides us toward the truth because the Spirit is truth. Truth which glorifies the actions of God in Jesus in the salvation of all people. And so the Children of God are wrapped into the communion of the Church. All that Jesus and the Spirit have is ours.

God's work is not done here and now. But, thanks be to God we have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us towards that truth of God.

Prayer
Father, send your Holy Spirit and guide me in your truth that the words that I say and the things that I do may glorify you... today... tomorrow... and forever. --- Amen
