Reflection
Jeremiah was released from prison and stayed behind. The others left for Babylon. How would we act if we had to leave for Babylon? Would we realize that God was with us on that journey? We we get the message that God wants us so desperately to return to Him and love Him with all of our heart, mind and soul? If we were left behind, would we fear that God had left us to go with the rest? Would we think that this was it and our purpose was over? How did Jeremiah feel, staying back?

I think God's love is much greater than place and time. I think God's love is greater than our movement. I don't think it's about our movement. I think what we need to be thankful for is God's movement. God moved with those on the trip to Babylon. And God surely stayed with Jeremiah when he stayed behind. God has a purpose for our lives if we go or if we stay behind. But there is movement needed on our end of this deal.

Do we really believe and have faith that God moved with us or even stayed behind. Can we fathom a God who could do both? If we truly believe in the movement of God with us in our lives as we move or stay behind, we will jump for joy in this awesome love, both for those who move and those who stay behind. We will leap in faith and go out day after day to fulfill the purpose that God has for us in our lives. There is some movement that comes on our part. But God in His grace has made that movement a wonderful reaction and fulfillment to a faith and hope in Him that we won't be able to resist movement by His side and with Him as we stay behind or even as we move along.

Thanks be to God!

Prayer
Lord, this day, I feel a wonderful leap of faith and hope to move with You. Fulfill Your purpose in me this day. ---Amen
