Reflection
Sometimes we have to take a stand. Sometimes we have to declare the position we are taking and stand firm. But when we do this, may our stand be based of the Word. May our stand be on the Word. May our stand be face to face with the face of Christ looking us square in the eye. In these times our very being trusts and depends solely in the hope of Christ. When we take a firm stand, we must be bold with the confidence in Christ, yet humble in the presence of God. When we take a stand we know of a Savior, enthroned forever that endures to all generations, that is leading us far beyond any effort of our own. Sometimes we have to take a stand. Sometimes we have to declare the position we are taking and stand firm.

Prayer
Lord, when You lead me to take a stand for a cause, for family, or for You, teach me through Your Word in Scripture, in hearing the Word taught, and as You speak through the Holy Sacraments; and fill my conscience with the presence of the Holy Spirit, that my words may be Your Words and my actions Your will. ---Amen
