August 13th People Reflection

Saturday 8/13/2005

John 1.1-18-The light keeps shining in the dark, and darkness has never put it out.

1 Chronicles 5-6-God takes care of his people and provides towns to live in

Zephaniah 2-God defends his people

Romans 11.1-2a, 29-32-has God rejected his people? By no means!

Romans 5.12-17-surely the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of Jesus has abounded for many

Psalm 45-the peoples will praise you forever and ever

"Sometimes these people just don’t have a clue at to what they are doing."- A statement made about a management decision I heard yesterday – yea- sometimes I think that applies to me- actually many times- but in my journey through life – I know that there is a light that keeps shining in the dark and the darkness has never put it out- it reminds me of a dream I had after Pastor Klafter’s death – there were several of my church friends – we were all together – in the dark – with our baptismal candles shining- we were bumping into each other – trying our best to find our way in the dark- using our candles for light- Pastor Klafter then suddenly found a greater light and he went with his candle towards that light and shouted follow me- there he is – or something to that effect—and he went into the light with his candle and disappeared—the rest of us continued to try to follow- but were left with our baptismal candles and each other for a while longer – that light in the darkness- God takes care of us- provides for us- gives us his grace- a free gift – of life and light to follow all our lives- in the end the path will be clear – he will show us the way – but until then – I’ll follow the light I have—"Sometimes people just don’t have a clue at what they are doing."—yea—but I do know one thing- God has given me a light to follow – I’ll bump around in the dark for a while – but he will lead this person who doesn’t have a clue home.

Prayer- Lord –let me follow your light this day- when I stumble pick me up- but lead me all the same to you. -- Amen
