May 10th Hymn of the Day by Bill Lynch

Come, You Faithful, Raise the Strain
2nd Verse
Text: John of Damascus, c. 696-c. 754; tr. John Mason Neale, 1818-1866, alt.

'Tis the spring of souls today: Christ has burst his prison,
and from three days' sleep in death as a sun has risen.
All the winter of our sins, long and dark, is flying
from the Light to whom we give laud and praise undying.

Hymn of the Day
Christ has risen on this day and is with us always.
As you reach to touch our face, in your eyes we will gaze.
Jesus is our risen Lord who brought life to this world.
We are given life anew. We see the living pearl!

So we gather now in awe, and celebrate new life.
We sing praises to our King. Jesus is the midwife.
Into all the world we run, for we have touched the Son.
Now we witness to the world, with a new life begun.

Prayer
Jesus, as we pause to think of your resurrection, we give your thanks for new life. In our excitement we go out into this world to sing of your praise, to give you all honor, glory and praise... today... tomorrow... and forever. --- Amen
