It doesn't do much in and of itself. In fact, this one has been through a hard working, dirty life. But if you apply some electricity to it you'll get a spark and an explosion.
It seems that the coming of the Holy Spirit to us is something like this. When we receive the Spirit into our lives we get an explosion of activity and life. We are gifted and empowered to go tell, witness and act out the values that Jesus demonstrated to us while he was present on this earth.
Sure, we still get dirty and wear out, but look at the joy the Spirit brings. We come to life and live! Thanks be to God!
Prayer
Lord, send the Spirit into all your disciples that we may explode in life for you... today... tomorrow... and forever. --- Amen
