November 14th People reflection

Monday 11/14/2005

James 2-Anyone who doesn’t breathe is dead, and faith that doesn’t do anything is just as dead!

Jeremiah 23-24-Then someday I will bring them back to this land.

Psalm 130-If you kept record of our sins, no one could last long.

Revelation 18.1-8-and the earth was made bright with his splendor

Matthew 3.1-11-Repent for the kingdom of heaven has come near.

Psalm 16-I keep the LORD always before me

"This camera won’t work."—Won’t take the picture for some reason- in the same way anyone who doesn’t breathe is dead—faith is like that too- if there isn’t evidence of faith then is their really any faith- our evidence is a response to the wonderful, graceful gift of forgiveness and life Jesus gave to us years ago- that grace that will someday bring me back to the land God has promised- that will lead me out of the wilderness of life into his life eternal- a gift so great that it erases the record of my sins- because I would never last if someone were counting- that time will come when the earth will be made bright with his splendor- but for now- I repent – seek forgiveness- turn to God and follow in faith- faith with action and service in love to a God who has saved me- and God that will always be before me—"This camera won’t work."—and God will take care of that too.

Prayer- Lord, forgive me- send me- use me --- Amen
