November 9th People Reflections

Wednesday 11/9/2005

Titus 1-Everything is pure for someone whose heart is pure.

Jeremiah 13-14-Don’t forget that you promised to rescue us.

Psalm 125-the LORD protects his people by holding them in his arms now and forever

Matthew 13.53-58-Where did this man get all this?

1 Corinthians 1.20-25-God decided, through the foolishness of our proclamation, to save those who believe.

Psalm 86-Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me

"It’s fun this time."- Voting- on a touch screen- different- no hanging chads! – It wasn’t the usual- the people in Jesus hometown expected the usual from Jesus- a carpenters son- a tradesman- but he was different- where did he get all this- so they rejected him- he changed- he became new- well- I’m not so sure- maybe they changed- their expectations were not what they should have been- they had low expectations because of his trade and work- but Jesus work was important- to the hometown people it all appeared as foolishness- a carpenters son with wisdom?- but through Jesus I am saved- believe it!- listen to Jesus and answer- feel the comfort of Jesus protecting arms now and forever- feel the rescue he has freely given- change my point of view and listen—"It’s fun this time."

Prayer-Lord, let me listen to you- in whatever form you speak to me-You make it all fun too - Amen
