May 23rd Daily Word and Visions from God

Acts 28.1-15-But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand, When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they began saying to one another, "Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, and though he has been saved from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live." However he shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm. But they were expecting that he was about to swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had waited a long time and had seen nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and began to say that he was a god.
1 Samuel 4-5-"Israel has fled before the Philistines and there has also been a great slaughter among the people, and your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been taken." When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell off the seat backward beside the gate, and his neck was broken and he died, for he was old and heavy.
Psalm 52-I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.
Ezekiel 3.12-21-So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away...

I bind your wounds
I fill you with My Spirit.
I send you out with My gifts to spread My Word.

A tree that has been damaged, I suppose by some wind. It has been patched and repaired. God takes care of me from day to day. When the snakes of life attack, I must depend and trust that God will save me from the dangers of this life. Someday one of those dangers may be it for me. But I guess that will be my time then. But till that happens, I will trust in God and his lovingkindness. I will continue to speak about His Word in all the situations I encounter in this life. Trust God and never turn Him into a symbol like the Israelites did with the ark. The ark was lost in battle and so were they. They had turned from God being mislead by Eli's priestly sons. God was not present in the ark. God's presence is above the ark on the mercy seat of a cross. God saves us through His action and His love. God does not save us by our actions and trust in an earthly ark, but God has saved us in our trust of an earthly Savior in Jesus Christ. It's God's action not ours that saves us. And through Jesus, God bound our wounds of sin, filled us with His Spirit and sends us out into the world to spread the Gospel of His Word. Thanks be to God!

Lord, when the snakes of life bite, I will continue to trust You. I will witness to Your Word even through the snake bites. ---Amen
