God's Word of the Day
Though the storms come and go...Though you may have damage...Know of my saving presence...believe in Me and profess My glory...you will be fruitful.

Story of the Day
This is a story of two families in a storm. Each family was neighbor to the other. During a tornado warning, both families faithfully retreated to the basement for cover. Both families huddled as families do. Both families, within themselves drew closer together while waiting out the storm. Both families gained camaraderie while waiting out the storm. When the storm had passed, each family came forth from their basement shelter. One family to the safety of their home. The other family came forth to a house destroyed.

As the one family emerged from the safety of their home, they looked in horror to their neighbor family's house and discovered the damage. Immediately in compassionate love they gave shelter to their neighbor. In the subsequent days both families united together in a common cause of rebuilding after the storm.

God was present for both families. Both families made it through the storm. One family was safe. The other family incurred damage. God was present for both families. God worked through both families. God is our shelter in the storm. Even when tragedy or disease or even sin and evil strikes, we must take shelter in the strength of God. We must seek God. God surely seeks us. God is with us, not necessarily to prevent the storm, but to be with us in and through the storm. Then through the faith God builds in each of us, we bear fruit. We bear fruit in knowing that God is our sure foundation, God is our shelter, God will use the good and the bad to work His grace in and through and with us, in the storm and through the storm and after the storm.

So take heart, in the storm, God is with you. Take heart, after the storm, God is with you and acting in and through you. You will bear fruit. Flea the evil of the storm and cling to God. Learn the trust He teaches and bear the fruit of love and compassion He gives you to give to all families.

Through the storm two families united with one another, united within each other and God united with them, in, during, and after the storm.

Prayer of the Day
Lord, be with me in the storms of life. I cling to you. Help me weather the storm and lead me to trust in Your Truth. ---Amen
