October 11th People Reflection

Tuesday 10/11/2005

Revelation 11-but after three and a half days the spirit of life from God entered them, and they stood up!

Esther 1- On the seventh day of the feast when King Xerxes was half drunk…

Psalm 105.1-25-Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness.

1 Corinthians 11.2, 17-22-consider others needs and be compassionate

Hebrews 12.1-2-And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus.

Psalm 146-The LORD will reign forever

"All she has to do is give a little guidance."—an aid commenting on how another aid could help me clean up- get some towels – a razor- some shaving cream- give a little help on what was available for me to help myself while I stay in the hospital – yea- give a little life – and he will stand up- kinda funny this one- cause maybe too – I felt little like King Xerxes – not from alcohol- but from pain medication- "half drunk"- not confident to stand up – but like the nurses aid said- give me a little guidance- and I can doe it- that nurses aid- full of compassion for me- for what reason? – we don’t really know each other- but she was anyway- freely compassionate- showing me the way- telling me to pick up the focus- showing me to focus my life again- not on the pain – but to focus on Jesus- keep my eyes on Jesus- yea—because God will reign forever- my little issues with some pain will disappear – like a puff of smoke- but God is forever- and thanks be to God for the gift from a special nurses aid—"All she has to do is give a little guidance."

Prayer- Lord, guide me this day. -- Amen
