October 7th People Reflection

Friday 10/7/2005

Revelation 7-After this, I saw a large crowd with more people than could be counted….and they stood before the throne and before the Lamb.

Nehemiah 9.38-10.39-the agreement—We will not neglect the temple of our God

Psalm 102-Every generation of those who serve you will live in your presence.

Isaiah 25.1-9-for you have done wonderful things

Joshua 24.14-18-choose this day whom you will serve

Psalm 112-their hearts are firm, secure in the LORD

"I’m waiting on the tests."—Something like that- a mother with a sick child – waiting on the tests- waiting on the doctors and specialists to figure out what is going on with her child- waiting and wondering – praying and hoping- asking for a peek into the future- I think we have that peek into the future with the passage from Revelation- and it brings hope to the faithful- we will one day stand before the throne of the Lamb and see his glory –experience the glory and all will be made whole again- for the Lamb has saved us and rescued us- but until that day- we wait- we hope- we serve- we pass our faith on from generation to generation- we serve God in his temple- in his kingdom- because we believe that the ending is set- it is sure and set and will be just as the vision leads us to believe- God has done wonderful things for us- each and every day if we but look closely we will see miracle before our eyes- even in the waiting- even in the pain- even in the sorrow- God is with us- and today we must choose whom we will serve- and that choice – if it’s the right choice – will keep our hearts firm and secure in God- "I’m waiting on the tests."—Yea- We will go through some tests but we can also rest assured that in the finality of it all- the faithful will stand before the throne of the Lamb- together with a wonderful crowd of believers- and slowly look up from the base of that cross- and see the glory of God and we will fall to our knees in praise and thanksgiving for all the blessings God has given us.

Prayer- Lord, I wait- I hope- I worry- I love- I wonder- I cry- I sing your praises- I give you glory-I see your face- I feel your Spirit - I love you -- Amen
