October 1st People Reflection

Saturday 10/1/2005

Revelation 1-God will bless everyone who reads this prophecy to others…

Nehemiah 1-2-Jerusalem is truly in a mess!

Psalm 96-Day after day announce, "The LORD has saved us!"

Philippians 3.4b-14-I want to know Christ

John 13.1-11-Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world, he loved them to the end.

Psalm 103-Bless the LORD, all his works…

"Just throw the ball!"—I heard this cry come from a fan at a football game last night- Our team was losing- they looked a mess- Nehemiah was looking at the walls of Jerusalem – after the exile- Jerusalem was a mess! – and it was now time to take drastic action- rebuild- try to save the city and rebuild – it was time to "Just throw the ball!"—God was putting the people to work- giving them all the gifts they needed to start rebuilding- God was saving his people- Jesus at the end of his ministry- knew he was going to die- knew he had to leave- he humbled himself and washed his disciples feet- he loved them- he knew it was time now to "Just throw the ball!" – time to take that final action of sacrifice and love on the cross for us—and Thanks be to God—Jesus "threw the ball!" – yea- I want to know Christ- I want Jesus to lead me and guide me and tell me when it’s me time to "Just throw the ball!" – cause God prepares me- he blesses me and he calls me at just the right time – to "throw the ball!"

Prayer- Lord, prepare me and tell me when it’s time for me to "throw the ball!" -- Amen
