April 8th People Reflection

Saturday 4/8/2006

Matthew 28-I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.

Deuteronomy 9-10-Today know this: GOD, your God, is crossing the river ahead of you…

Job 8-Even though you’re not much right now, you’ll end up better than ever.

Mark 14.1-15.47-Jesus shouted and then died. At once the curtain in the temple tore in two from top to bottom.

Leviticus 16.15-17-and you must sprinkle its blood inside the most holy place…

Psalm 80.1-7, 17-19-LORD God All-Powerful, make us strong again! Smile on us and save us.

"Maybe I’ve got an attitude."- A statement at work about words being spoken without action to follow. Meaningless "buzz" words without follow-up. Jesus last words at his ascension—were that he would be with us day after day after day—right up till the end. Not "buzz" words but deep love and truth. Action in that Jesus crossed that river ahead of us- just as God crossed the river ahead of the Israelites- not just "buzz" words – but loving action – Through God’s love I will end up better than ever- even though I deserve damnation and eternal fire- God loves me through my sin and death to a new life- and the curtain tore in two- at Jesus death- the holy place of God- sprinkled with the blood of Jesus inside was now open to me- God opened himself to my world and took on my sin and took on my death and did it all for the love of me- God – All-Powerful – saved me and smiles on me – day after day after day – right up till the end—"Maybe I’ve got an attitude." – Now a changed attitude – I’ve seen the action of my loving Savior – Thanks be to God!

Prayer- Lord thank you! -- Amen
