December 2nd reflections

Thursday 12/2/2004
Galatians 5.16-26 - God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. When we belong to Jesus we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. God’s Spirit has given us life.
Ezekiel 1 - Ezekiel was the son of Buzi - hw was led away as prisoner to Babylonia and God gave him visions - A windstorm blowing in from the north - four creatures in the center of the cloud - faces-human, lion, bull and eagle - lightening flashing and all kinds of weird stuff- the creatures flew around together - connected- there was a dome over them - a throne over the dome with a human form sitting on the throne - surrounded by light - glowing and on fire - it was the brightness of God’s glory - then he heard a voice speaking to him. So God gave Ezekiel a meaningful vision - it really can’t be described just as Ezekiel says - but he does the best he can with words and God will give the meaning - but you can see the comparisons laying in the background with the Ark-God in fire-light-cloud and all sorts of things- I know Ezekiel will give us a good message from God or an explanation forthcoming.
Psalm 148 - Shout praises to God!
I want to go up the mountain of God - learn - see- believe
Glory is yours now and forever!
Psalm 72.1-7, 18-19 - Jesus is King and endures forever
Habakkuk 3.10-19 - God is powerful - he rules over everything - creation and the universe
Psalm 54 - Save me!
Prayer - Send your Spirit dear Lord to fill me with all good behavior - I have faith and believe - Let me see the light of your way and follow in it - let me see the vision you have for me today and serve you through it - all the glory is yours and you are all powerful - then, now and forever. Thanks be to God! ---- Amen
