December 4th reflections

Saturday 12/4/2004
Paul was chosen by God to be an apostle - before the world was created, God chose us to live with him and to be his people -we are his adopted children - and he chose us because of Jesus - we should praise God - Jesus was sacrificed to set us free - our sins are now forgiven - Jesus will bring heaven and earth together - God always does what he plans - that’s why he had Jesus choose us - the Spirit will make us wise and help us understand - my prayer is that light will flood our hearts that we will understand God’s hope that was given when God chose us - all things are put under the power of Jesus
Ezekiel 4-5 - God told Ezekiel to get a brick and paint Jerusalem on it - build a ramp and surround the brick with enemy camps - put wooden poses around it to break down the city gate - sounds like how I would play with my blocks and army men - built little cities and put the army guys around it then loft small bomb block at the city - then Ezekiel was supposed to lay around his little forts as an example to Israel and Judah to warn them of what is going to happen -- then while Ezekiel is playing he was only supposed to eat some concoction of food God made up that was heated up with the fuel of human waste - this was to show that Israel and Judah would have to eat food that was unclean - Ezekiel opposed God on the eating unclean food - so God let him use cow manure to heat up the food. -- God has Ezekiel get a sword and cut off his hair and beard - weigh it and put it in to three piles - after Ezekiel attacks the brick he is to take one pile of hair and burn it on the brick - the second pile let it fall around the brick - the third pile of hair throw into the wind - keep a few hairs out - then pull out those few hairs and throw them into the fire so they burn - God is about to punish Jerusalem for turning from him - children will eat parents and parents will eat children - everyone will be desperate and live in horror - a third will die in Jerusalem - a third will be killed in war - a third will be scattered in every direction -- God sure uses some strange ways to get a message across - and Ezekiel must have wondered what that was all about!
Psalm 150 - Praise God! - Praise him in all sorts of ways
I want to go up the mountain of God - learn - see- believe
Dada- Abba -- I’m his child
Roman 15.4-13 - God give hope - no doubt about it
Isaiah 25.1-9 - we have waited for the salvation of God - he has sent Jesus salvation to wipe away tears and to give hope
Psalm 136 - His steadfast love endures forever
Prayer - God you are mysterious! - you chose me before I was born - you can see all time - It’s beyond anything I can imagine - then you speak to us in so many ways - how can we not help but to listen - you tell stories with grown men acting like little kids playing army - but you get the message across - forgive me when I turn from you - help me to smell the stench of my sin - repent and turn around - for you give hope- you give life- you give and give and give - may I realize your blessings this day - may I feel the grace of life you give- may I be your child daddy! --for your steadfast love endures forever. --- Amen
