Matthew 6.1-18-Give us this day our daily bread.
Exodus 33-34-So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water.
Proverbs 15-Better a dish of vegetable where love is than a fattened ox served with hatred.
Luke 4.1-13- Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was lead around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry.

Mom came over for supper last night. On these nights especially when Mom visits, Sue is busy serving the meal. I help a little, but Sue does most of the work. I do the transportation piece. We make plans to receive our daily bread. God grants the blessing of daily bread. All we need in this life for body and soul. Not only food, but fellowship, love, faith, a job, and God's Word and guidance. Daily Bread is everything needed to live. God gives this. Day after day. But there are a couple of occasions when His Bread is most satisfying. When we have fasted from His Bread. When we have gone through the test. Maybe a life struggle. Maybe even hunger. Then when we receive that Bread, it is ohhh sooo gooood! It seems that when we are low on energy there lurks the devil, but also there God shows His power. God comes down and gives us His Bread. His Bread in Jesus. At the struggle points we can turn around and bump right into Jesus. God giving us our daily Bread in Jesus. At just the right moment. Jesus even experienced this in the desert with the devil. Jesus had the Spirit present with him and was and is that daily Bread. That perfect Bread that overcomes all temptation, evil and death. And in this Bread is that Love served. Loved served in a simple manner. God became flesh in Jesus and came to us humble to feed us and be our daily Bread. What more provision is necessary.

Lord, feed me that daily Bread in Christ that I may live, and live for you today and forever. ---Amen
