September 1st Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me. See, on the portals he’s waiting and watching, watching for you and for me. "Come home, come home! You who are weary, come home." Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, "O sinner, come home!" ("Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling" – Text: Will L. Thompson, 1847-1909)

God’s Word of the Day
I have come to your home. I call out to You. Come home to Me.
Psalm of the Day
Lord, I hear Your call to come home.
You have come to me in the midst of the fire.
You purify me in the midst of the fire.
You skim off the sin in my life and clean me with Your wonderful soap of Love.
Life’s not always easy. I’m in the fire. I need Your cleaning and refining.
Cleanse me of my sin I pray.
You are my God. You open my eyes and send me in Your Love.
I will continually sacrifice my life to You.
I will eternally praise Your name.
May the fruit of my lips be a source of joy and thanksgiving to all I meet this day.
I’m at home with You.

I am your audience. You have seen what I have done out of love for you. Worship and love is what I desire.
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
I sit on the porch of Your wonderful creation.
I hear the song of birds.
I see the movement of animals, trees and wind all praising Your greatness.
Yet sometimes when I worship, it seems I have it all turned around.
Forgive me as I return to the heart of worship.
I see how worship is all about You.
I offer my sacrifice to You.
You are my God and to You I sing.
I desire nothing but You and You alone.
All creation returns praise to You and I join in.
I join in with Your creatures in praise to Your greatness.
You are an awesome God above all.
Please accept my humble offerings.
I have returned to the heart of worship and truly found that it’s all about You.
