Luke 14.25-35-Are you listening to this? Really listening?
Genesis 26-Abimelech, king of the Philistines, looked out his window and saw Isaac fondling his wife Rebekah.
Psalm 19-The revelation of GOD is whole and pulls our lives together.
Psalm 65.5-12-Your river never runs dry
1 Corinthians 10.16-17-By sharing in the same loaf of bread, we become one body, even though there are many of us.
Psalm 67-make everyone praise you and shout your praises.
"Did you get much snow at your house?"- A question from a friend at work. A conversation starter. A place to start. Was I listening? Really listening? This is one of those questions that is just a start to deeper conversation. Did I listen for the deeper conversation. That conversation that says I want to hear about you and your life. I care enough to listen. Do I listen to God? Really listen? Slow down—stop and listen. Look around and notice the details. Ha! Abimelech stopped to look around and saw Isaac fondling Rebekah. Sounds so much like something Abraham would so with Sarah. If I will just stop and listen – God reveals himself to me- God has come to me and pulls my life together. Leads and guides me. Takes care of me and never lets the river of his love run dry. That river that always flows with grace, love and salvation. Always there. A river of love that is worth sharing in the body and blood- the bread and wine with the whole body of Christians—many of us – causing us to praise and shout to God. "Did you get much snow at your house?" – Time to stop and listen.
Prayer-Lord, I will stop and listen to your voice. -- Amen
