January 30th People Reflection

Monday 1/30/2006

Luke 22.1-38-He will show you a spacious second-story room, swept and ready.

Genesis 39-But there in jail GOD was still with Joseph

Psalm 30-You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance…I can’t keep quiet about you

1 Esdras 1/34-58-They burned the house of the Lord…

Psalm 84-LORD God All-Powerful, your temple is so lovely!

Romans 11.33-36-Everything comes from the Lord. All things were made because of him and will return to him.

Psalm 118.19-29-We praise you from here in the house of the LORD.

"I forgot to do the tables."- Working together with Steph we cleaned some rooms in the house. Reminds me of that upper room where Jesus and his disciples took the bread and wine- the body and blood- Swept and ready. Can I make a room swept and ready for my Savior? I think I can get one ready- and you never know where that room may be in life. For Joseph it was even in a jail- swept and ready. But sometimes I’m not prepared with room- the very building may be burnt because of my sin- But God is so loving and All-Powerful that he invites me into his lovely room- his temple and shows me that all I have comes from him- changes my lament of sin into a whirling dance—releases me to praise him in his house. I think I’ll clean up the room of my heart and be ready for my friend and Savior Jesus to visit a while. And maybe he’ll bring a friend or two along with him. "I forgot to do the tables." – Ok—I’ll do them and we’ll be ready.

Prayer-Lord, I’m glad you’re here- please come into my room and stay a while. -- Amen
