Psalm of the Day
Tree of knowledge, compassion, wisdom and beauty.
Tree of healing.
Lord Jesus, you hung from the wood of this tree.
You suffered, died and opened the curtain.
Through You I come this day.
Through all You have done, I live this day.
Through all Your pain; I am healed.
You are the beacon of Light shining from the cross.
You are radiant.
Let Your Light shine in and through me.
As I approach the Tree, use me daily in Your Kingdom.
Let Your glory cover me and fill me.
Let Your cloud, permeate my heart and very soul.
Spread throughout and within all that is good and right and true.
You have spoken the Word and given all Your grace.

My Tree! My Lord! My Savior!
Thanks be to God!

Hymn of the Day
Of death I am no more afraid; your dying is my living. You clothe me in your royal robes that you are always giving. Your love is dress enough for me to wear through all eternity before the throne of heaven, where we shall stand close by your side, your church, the well appointed bride, when all the faithful gather. ("A Lamb Goes Uncomplaining Forth" - Text: Paul Gerhardt, 1607-1676; tr. Lutheran Book of Worship, alt.)

Exodus 37-38-Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood...He overlaid it with pure gold inside and outside...
Proverbs 17-The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, but the LORD tests the heart.
John 7.14-31, 37-39-Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink.
God's Word of the Day
Use the skills I give to My glory. Use them with the silver and gold. Love I freely give to you. Come to me and be refreshed with blessing. Then go using the skills I give to My glory.
Psalm of the Day
I come to You knocking, seeking Your company.
I come and You pull me into Your heart.
You pull me in and quench my thirst with Your Love.
You fill me with blessing.
You gift me with skills You desire for me to have.
Then we go out together.
We go out into Your Kingdom to serve.
I serve with the skills You have provided.
I serve and joyously use what You have given to me.
Working with You is so much fun!
Working in Your Kingdom is a treat.

Christ the life of all the living, Christ, the death of death, our foe, Christ, yourself for me once giving to the darkest depths of woe; through your suffering, death, and merit life eternal I inherit. Thousand, thousand thanks are due, dearest Jesus, unto you. ("Christ, the Life of All the Living" - Text:Ernst Christoph Homburg, 1605-1681; tr. Catherine Winkworth, 1827-1878, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Matthew 6.19-34-But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness...
Exodus 35-36-So the people were restrained from bringing; for what they had already brought was more than enough to do all the work.
Proverbs 16-Wisdom is a fountain of life to one who has it...
Genesis 29.1-14-Jacob went up and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock...
God's Word of the Day
See the suffering. See the dying. See My Love!
Psalm of the Day
How can I respond?
How can I help from responding?
I see all that You have done.
I see the Love that You have shown.
I know of the blessings You have granted.
Thousand thousand thanks are due.
But even that doesn't seem enough.
Even that would never be enough.
You rolled the stone from the tomb.
A Fountain of Life giving water emerged.
A Fountain of Life giving water poured out from that tomb.
You roll the stone from my heart.
Your Water pours into me.
My heart overflows.
My thankfulness exceeds myself.
I love You!
I serve You joyously and gladly and delightfully.
Thousand thousand thanks are due.
My Savior! My God!
Prayer of the Day
My heart overflows in thankfulness for all You have done and all You do. Thanks be to God! ---Amen

All have fallen to sin except My Son. You deserve death and hell. But I have chosen to pay the last penny with the very life of My Son, Jesus. Come and see Jesus, the Messiah. Go and tell of all He has done.
Psalm of the Day
Cheating, lying, stealing, adulterers!
We all fit the mold one way or another.
I deserve death and hell.
You know everything I have ever done.
You know my sin and my stench.
You know how rotten I am.
Yet You choose to love.
You choose to come to me.
You choose to give me life giving water.
Water that nourishes forever.
Not the bitter water of false idols.
You give the Living Water of Life.
I think I know the way and go.
But my way is not Your way.
My selfish way leads to death.
Your way leads to life.
Come to me and show me Your way.
I leave my selfish water jar behind now.
You have come and showed my Your glory.
You come to me and show me the way.
I go and tell all of You.
I go and proclaim to all to come and see.
Come and see the Messiah!
Come and see Life and Love!
Cheating, lying, stealing adulterers!
Come and see!
Turn and go!
Give your life away to Him.
Jesus fills with ever flowing, life giving water.
Jesus is Love in Flesh.
Come and see the Messiah!
Prayer of the Day
Lord, You know me. You know my sin. Forgive me. Give me that life giving water. Forgive me and fill me and call me and send me to proclaim to all the world---"Come and see!" ---Amen

February 22nd Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Jesus keep me near the cross, there's a precious fountain; free to all, a healing stream flows from Calvery's mountain. In the cross, in the cross be my glory ever; till my ransomed soul shall find rest beyond the river. ("Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross" - Text: Fanny J. Crosby, 1820-1915)
Readings of the Day
Matthew 4-Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor...
Exodus 25-27-Then you shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its width.
Proverbs 12-Anxiety weighs down the human heart, but a good word cheers it up.
Ephesians 2.11-22-But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
God's Word of the Day
I have made glory out of the cross. I died so you could live.
Psalm of the Day
You didn't have to do it.
The great Kingdom already belonged to You.
All creation; under Your control.
Everything, under You.
You didn't have to come down here.
But You did!
You came down and hung on a cross for me.
You suffered and died for me.
You took on the punishment that I deserved.
You made the cross into a symbol of glory.
You sat on the mercy seat of that cross and bled.
Your sweat covered body took in all the pain I deserved.
Fountains of painful water flowing at the base of that cross.
You took on my anxiety and saved me.
You gave the Word of cheer in loving forgiveness from that cross.
I was once far off from You.
But You decided to come to me and be near me.
You came near me and in me with Your blood.
You didn't have to do it.
But You did!
Thanks be to God!
Prayer of the Day
Thank You, Lord Jesus, thank You! ---Amen

Colossians 1.15-23-He is the image of the invisible, God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, wheather thrones or dominions or rulers or powers--all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything, For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.
God's Word of the Day
I AM the first and the last. I AM before the beginning and after the end. I hold everything together with my Love. I AM pleased to reconcile all things to Myself.
Psalm of the Day
How beautiful You are to me, my Lord and Savior!
You display a beauty surpassing description.
More beautiful than all precious stones.
More beautiful than any creature created.
I can't describe Your glory.
You are before the first and after the last.
You are beyond time and understanding.
Your feet rest on the clouds of the morning.
Your hands hold the universe.
You lead and guide with grace and honor.
You bring forth fountains of joy and laughter.
Your voice thunders throughout the universe.
Your Light shines through the darkness.
You bring life to the stones.
Out of death comes life.
Out of life comes love.
Out of Love comes salvation.
All honor, glory and praise are Yours.
You are the source of all pleasure.
How beautiful You are to me, my Lord and Savior!
Prayer of the Day
Lord, accept, I pray my honor and praise and pleasure in seeing You each day. ---Amen
Christ, you lead and we shall follow, stumbling though our steps may be; one with you in joy and sorrow, we the river, you the sea, we the river, you the sea. ("Tree of Life and Awesome Mystery" - Text: Marty Haugen, b. 1950)

Hymn of the Day
Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a weary land, a weary land; my Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a shelter in the time of storm. No one can do loke Jesus, not a mumbling word he said; he went walking down to Lazarus' grave, and he raised him from the dead. Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a weary land, a weary land; my Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a shelter in the time of storm. ("Jesus Is a Rock in a Weary Land" - Text: African American spiritual)
Readings of the Day
Matthew 2-Get up, take the child and his mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who were seeking the child's life are dead.
Exodus 22-23-I am going to send an angel in front of you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared.
Proverbs 10-Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
John 7.53-8.11-Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.
God's Word of the Day
I am your shelter in the storm. I guide and protect you. I cover you with My love and sustain life. Believe and follow me to the place I have prepared for you.
Psalm of the Day
You are my protection in the midst of the storm.
You send angels to guide my steps.
You give Love and cover my sin.
Lead me away from hatred.
Show me a better way.
Show me how to love the sinner.
Show me forgiveness.
Pardon my sin and bless me.
Call me and send me in Your way.
You are my protection in the midst of the storm.
Prayer of the Day
Lord, lead me, guide me, forgive me, bless me, call me, send me this day I pray. ---Amen

Hymn of the Day
I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Behold, I freely give the living water, thirsty one; stoop down and drink and live." I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life giving stream; my thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in him. ("I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" - Text: Horatius Bonar, 1808-1889)
Readings of the Day
Matthew 1-Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
Exodus 20-21-I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have not other gods before me.
Proverbs 9-Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed.
Isaiah 65.17-25-Before they call I will answer, while they are yet speaking I will hear.
God's Word of the Day
Drink of the water I give. It gives life.
Psalm of the Day
I get thirsty for You, Lord.
I get thirsty and know of my need for You.
I come to You for refreshment.
I come to You for guidance.
I come to You with questions.
I find that You have heard me before I spoke.
I find that You have answered before I questioned.
I find that You have provided before I needed.
Your blessing is beyond what I can think about.
You are mystery to me.
You are my God and there will be no others.
I get thirsty for You, Lord.
I take in Body and Blood.
I take in Bread and Wine.
I take in Live giving Water.
You live in me.
I live through You.
Prayer of the Day
No other God but You. No other. My Savior! ---Amen

February 18th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
As the deer runs to the river, parched and weary from the chase, we have come from hurt and hurry, thirsting for your healing grace. Jesus, source of living water, may we drink of you and live! ("As the Deer Runs to the River" - Text:Herman G. Stuempfle Jr., b. 1923)
Readings of the Day
Hebrews 13-For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the city gate in order to sanctify the people by his own blood. Let us then go to him outside the camp and bear the abuse he endured.
Exodus 18-19-When the trumpet sounds a long blast, they may go up on the mountain.
Proverbs 8-I have good advice and sound wisdom; I have insight, I have strength.
Numbers 21.4-9-And the LORD said to Moses, "Make a poisonous serpent, and set it on a pole; and everyone who is bitten shall look at it and live.
God's Word of the Day
Gaze on the pole. Gaze at the cross. Gaze at Me and live.
Psalm of the Day
Outside the city, so much took place.
Jesus, My Savior was the slaughtered lamb.
Jesus, You gave Yourself for me.
Outside the city, in the world, with me in my sin, so much took place.
I come to You, Jesus, and gaze upon that pole outside the city.
I gaze and kneel in awe of Your love.
I see You on the cross.
I am bitten by the snake of sin, yet You hang from that pole.
I am bitten, sinful, deserving death on the cross.
In You sin dies and I live.
The Lamb is brought into the sanctuary.
The darkness of the tomb holds Your body.
Yet You do not die, You live.
Sins dies and You live!
What glory You have revealed, my Lamb from the pole of that cross.
What glory You reveal from the darkness of the tomb.
What glory You reveal in life.
Now I go outside this temple, outside this city.
I go alive and well and heed the sound of the trumpet.
I go fed with Wisdom, fed with Your body and blood.
I go refreshed with the living water, in joy.
I go outside the city to the cross.
I go in service to You.
I go in joy with You.
I go to my cross, outside the city.
I go and delightfully serve You in Your Kingdom.
I go to that cross outside the city.
Prayer of the Day
Jesus, You did it all. You, my sacrifice for sin, You, my Savior. I hear the trumpet sound and approach that cross and am given life. Now I go outside to serve and love those You give me this day. ---Amen

February 17th Daily Hymn, Reading, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Seed that in earth is dying rises to bear much fruit. Christ, as we meet at your table, give us the bread of life. Lord, we do thank and adore you! Unceasing praise of the ages rises from night and death. ("Seed That in Earth Is Dying" - Text:Svein Ellingsen, b. 1929; tr. Hedwig T. Durnbaugh, b. 1929)
Readings of the Day
Hebrews 12-Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
Exodus 16-17-Then the LORD said to Moses, "I am going to rain bread from heaven for you, and each day the people shall go out and gather enough for that day."
Proverbs 7.6-27-He is like a bird rushing into a snare, not knowing that it will cost him his life.
John 3.1-17-For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
God's Word of the Day
I AM the Bread, I AM the Manna that feeds you and sustains your life each and every day. I love you and I love the world I created. I come not to condemn but to save. Run the race with Me in eternal life.
Psalm of the Dy
Jesus, in death, You created Life.
Your Love is beyond anything I can fathom.
I can't figure out why You would choose to love me.
I'm such a sinner.
Sneaking about in the midst of my sin.
Yet You come to me with open arms.
Arms outstretched even to Your death.
But then, You brought life out of sin.
You brought light out of darkness.
You died and saved me in Your love.
Oh, how You love me.
Oh, how You love this world You created.
You cause me to celebrate Your love in joy.
You have given me a joy beyond expression.
How I run and jump and play with You in this journey of eternal life.
How I run with perseverance the race You have set before me.
How I love the race!
Yes Lord! Rain down that Bread, that Manna from heaven!
Rain down and let me take You in.
Fill me with Your presence and sustain Your Life in me!
Prayer of the Day
Wow! You love me! Wow! A joy I can't express builds within me! Wow! ---Amen

You show me the way to go.
You make the invisible visble to me.

February 14th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Onward, therefore, sisters, brothers; onward, with the cross our aid. Bear its shame, and fight its battle till we rest beneath its shade. Soon shall come the great awakening; soon the rending of the tomb! Then the scattering of all shadows, and the end of toil and gloom. ("Through the Night of Doubt and Sorrow" - Text: Bernhardt S. Ingemann, 1789-1862; tr. Sabine Baring-Gould, 1834-1924, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Hebrews 10.19-39-And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Exodus 11-12-The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live...
Proverbs 4-The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever else you get, get insight.
2 Timothy 1.3-7-...God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
God's Word of the Day
Forward We go as One. Forward We go with the cross before us. I have defeated sin, death and the devil. Forward we go in love, good deeds, encouragement and service in My Kingdom.
Psalm of the Day
Lord, You have defeated the power of the cross.
You have changed the cross from a symbol of death to a symbol of Life.
The cross, once carried to punishment.
The cross, now carried as a battle call to Life.
Let Your cross go before me every day.
Let Your cross encourage me to serve daily in Your Love.
I no longer need to cower at the foot of the cross fearing death.
Instead we approach Your cross, hand-in-hand.
We approach Your cross in reverence to Your Love.
We kneel at the foot of Your cross.
We slowly raise our gaze to Your glory.
We priase Your name and focus on You alone.
We give You all of our Love.
On this cross, You shed Your blood and gave Your life.
Oh the cross!
Oh the Christ!
Oh the Love!
Oh the Wisdom!
Lord, You have defeated the power of the cross.
Changed the cross and changed our lives.
Now and forever!
Prayer of the Day
Let Your cross go before me. Let me boldly and fearlessly serve You in Your Kingdom this day. ---Amen

February 11th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Bane and blessing, pain and pleasure, by the cross are sancitified; peace is there that knows no mearsure, joys that through all time abide. ("In the Cross of Christ I Glory" - Text:John Bowring, 1792-1872)
Readings of the Day
Hebrews 8-Now the main point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent that the Lord, and not any mortal, has set up.
Exodus 5.1-6.27-I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God.
Proverbs 1-Hear, my child, your father's instruction; and do not reject your mother's teaching; for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck.
1 Kings 19.1-8-He got up, and ate and drank; then he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb the mount of God.
God's Word of the Day
Listen to Me. See the temple. See the priest. See My outstretched arms of love that save.
Psalm of the Day
You took the cross, a symbol of death.
You changed it into a symbol of life.
You took pain and brought out joy.
You feed me with the food of life.
I take You in and live.
Live for the journey, You give to me.
I live for You in Your Kingdom.
Saint and sinner; You continue to use me.
You took Your body and made it the Temple.
You became the One and only priest.
I listen to Your instruction daily.
Listen through the voice of Your Word.
Listen through the words of father, mother, elder, youth.
I hear Your wisdom and gain understanding.
Then, full of Your Word.
I go, in Your name.
Prayer of the Day
Lord, I come to You and You welcome me. I listen to You and seek Your wisdom. You feed me and then send me. I go. Thanks be to God! ---Amen

February 10th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Christ Jesus is the ground of faith, who was made flesh and suffered death; all who confide in Christ alone are built on this chief cornerstone. ("God Loved the World" - Text:Gesangbuch, Bollhagen, 1791; tr. August Crull, 1846-1923, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Hebrews 7-Unlike the other high priests, he has no need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for those of the people; this he did once for all when he offered himself.
Exodus 3-4-Then the LORD said, "I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed, I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey..."
Psalm 41-As for me, I said, "O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you."
Matthew 4.1-11-Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! for it is written, 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.'" Then the devil left him, and suddenly angels came and waited on him.
God's Word of the Day
I AM the Priest. I AM the Sacrifice. I AM the One Who Saves. I AM the Word made Flesh. I AM The Breath of Life. I AM WHO I AM.
Psalm of the Day
What awesome power You possess, Jesus!
What commanding presence You bring to this place.
Away with you, Satan!
I worship and serve only the Lord.
Jesus, my High Priest.
Jesus, the sacrifice.
You have observed our human failings and sin.
You have chosen to rescue us.
Through You we approach that land of milk and honey.
How I look forward to this land.
How I delight in the journey.
Life comes alive in and through You.
Adventures unknown are awesome with You.
How much joy, You have brought to Your people!
Your gracious love heals me from my sinfulness.
Your gracious love gifts me and uses me as Yours.
What awesome power You possess, Jesus, the Cornerstone of it all!
Prayer of the Day
I worship You, Lord Jesus! I kneel before Your awesome power. You are the cornerstone. You are Life. ---Amen

Then grant, O God, that we may, too, return in fast and prayer to you. Our spirits strengthen with your grace, and give us joy to see your face. ("The Glory of These Forty Days" - Text: Latin hymn, 211th cent.; tr. Maurice F. Bell, 1862-1947, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Hebrews 3.1-4.13-Indeed the word of God is living and active...

Psalm 38-But it is for you, O LORD, that I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.
Romans 1.1-7-Grace to you and peace from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
God's Word of the Day
Retrun to Me with prayers and fasting. I will give you grace.
Psalm of the Day
It's a struggle in this wilderness as You know.
It's a struggle with sin, death, pain and the devil.
But, I know that You know this too.
You know of the struggle.
You know of the pain.
You felt it more than I.
Through the struggle and pain.
Through the fire, I go with you.
I go with Your grace through the fire.
I go with Your grace through the wilderness.
Knowing that in the fire You refine me.
In the fire, You remove the dross.
In the fire, You see Your reflection in me.
In the fire, I wait for You to sweep me clean.
In the fire and the wilderness, You refine me.
I give thanks to You for the fire.
I give thanks to You for the wilderness.
I give thanks to You for Your presence.
I give thanks to You for Your touch.
Even in the midst of the fire.
Even in the midst of the wilderness.
I know of a hope and joy and an awesome grace.
In the fire.
Prayer of the Day
My spirit strengthens with Your grace in the midst of the fire and in the midst of the wilderness. With Your Grace I am overjoyed by the warmth of Your face.
Genesis 48-...the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day...
---Amen

How awesome is Your Love.
Love beyond imagination.
Love beyond and before time.
Forgiveness before the sin.
Vision of Love before creation.
Morning that dawns before sunrise.
Your grace is amazing.
You preserved life before there was life.
You were Light before there was light.
Amazing grace.
Awesome forgiveness.
Almighty God!
Walk with me in this wilderness.
Walk me through temptation.
Forgive me before I sin.
You are my Savior!

You astound me and amaze me with Grace! ---Amen

February 4th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
As we worship, grant us vision, till you love's revealing light in its height and depth and greatness dawns upon our quickened sight, making known the needs and burdens your compassion bids us bear, stirring us to ardent service, your abundant life to share. ("Lord, Whose Love in Humble Service" - Text:Albert F. Bayly, 1901-1984)
Readings of the Day
Luke 24.13-53-Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and then enter into his glory?
Genesis 44-What can we say to my lord? What can we speak? How can we clear oursleves? God has found out the guilt of your servants...
Psalm 35-Then my soul shall rejoice in the LORD, exulting in his deliverance.
Exodus 33.7-23-Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.
God's Word of the Day
Let's go for a walk. I have something to tell You.
Psalm of the Day
Jesus, my Friend, come near, I pray.
Come near and speak Your Word to me.
Speak that I may understand.
Speak that I may hear.
You show compassion.
You step out and act in love.
I see how my sin made Your suffering necessary.
Forgive me, my Friend.
Forgive my selfishness and pride.
Forgive my lack of love and compassion.
Forgive my sin.
Only You can clear my sin.
Only You can do this.
As Your expressed love is real.
So make my response to that love real.
Permit me to serve others in love and compassion.
Permit me to proclaim Your love and grace.
Permit me to work with You in Your Kingdom.
Permit me to do Your will and follow Your way.
Allow me to serve You.
Jesus, my Friend, come near, I pray.
Prayer of the Day
My Friend, let's walk together and let me learn from You. Show me the way and teach me Your Love that I may serve You in Your Kingdom this day. ---Amen

February 2nd Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Your city's built to music; we are the stones you seek; your harmony is language; we are the words you speak. Our faith we find in service, our hope in others' dreams, our live in hand of neighbor; our homeland brightly gleams. Inscribe our hearts with justice; your way the path untried; your truth the heart of stranger; your life the Crucified. ("Let Streams of Living Justice" - Text: William Whitla, b. 1934)
Readings of the Day
Luke 23.26-56-It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, while the sun's light failed; and the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Having said this, he breathed his last.
Genesis 42-My money has been put back; here it is in my sack!
Psalm 33-By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
Luke 2.22-40-Master, now you are dismissing your servant in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.
God's Word of the Day
I gave My Son's life for you.
Psalm of the Day
On that cross You took in all my sin.
You took on and became my sin.
On that cross, as my sin, You breathed Your last.
My sin died on that cross with Your last breath.
Your Spirit commended.
You rose again.
Your breath once again was given to me.
You breathe life into me.
You give me new life from death.
The breath of life, freely given.
The last breath of my sin, freely given.
My eyes have seen Your salvation.
Life put back in my sack.
All heavens made by Your breath.
Breath of Life.
Breathe on me.
Prayer of the Day
Speak Your Word through me today. Use Your breath of Life. Breathe on me and through me. I am Your servant. ---Amen
