Hymn of the Day
Onward, therefore, sisters, brothers; onward, with the cross our aid. Bear its shame, and fight its battle till we rest beneath its shade. Soon shall come the great awakening; soon the rending of the tomb! Then the scattering of all shadows, and the end of toil and gloom. ("Through the Night of Doubt and Sorrow" - Text: Bernhardt S. Ingemann, 1789-1862; tr. Sabine Baring-Gould, 1834-1924, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Hebrews 10.19-39-And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Exodus 11-12-The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live...
Proverbs 4-The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever else you get, get insight.
2 Timothy 1.3-7-...God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
God's Word of the Day
Forward We go as One. Forward We go with the cross before us. I have defeated sin, death and the devil. Forward we go in love, good deeds, encouragement and service in My Kingdom.
Psalm of the Day
Lord, You have defeated the power of the cross.
You have changed the cross from a symbol of death to a symbol of Life.
The cross, once carried to punishment.
The cross, now carried as a battle call to Life.
Let Your cross go before me every day.
Let Your cross encourage me to serve daily in Your Love.
I no longer need to cower at the foot of the cross fearing death.
Instead we approach Your cross, hand-in-hand.
We approach Your cross in reverence to Your Love.
We kneel at the foot of Your cross.
We slowly raise our gaze to Your glory.
We priase Your name and focus on You alone.
We give You all of our Love.
On this cross, You shed Your blood and gave Your life.
Oh the cross!
Oh the Christ!
Oh the Love!
Oh the Wisdom!
Lord, You have defeated the power of the cross.
Changed the cross and changed our lives.
Now and forever!
Prayer of the Day
Let Your cross go before me. Let me boldly and fearlessly serve You in Your Kingdom this day. ---Amen
