Christ is the king! O friends, rejoice; brothers and sisters, with one voice let the world know he is your choice. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! ("Christ Is the King!" - Text:George K.A. Bell, 1883-1958, alt.)
--- --- ---
Readings of the Day
1 Thessalonians 4-For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Isaiah 20-22-But the LORD of hosts revealed Himself to me...
Psalm 115-But as for us, we will bless the LORD from this time forth and forever. Praise the LORD!
2 Timothy 3.1-9-But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
--- --- ---
God's Word of the Day
Realize that you will have difficult times. But realize also that I am with you. I come to you and gather you together in love. I reveal Myself to you.
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
You tell me that I will have difficult times.
But even in the difficult times, I see You are present with me.
In these times You gather me in with others.
You gather us together in compassion, caring and love.
You give Yourself to me in my pain.
You show me the pain You endured for the salvation of all.
I see Your act of Love and respond with acts of love.
In my pain my focus changes from inward to outward.
Then I see how You have healed me from the inside out.
You come into me and heal me and bring me out of myself.
Bring me out of my selfish sinful pain.
Bring me out and gather me together with others.
Together we praise Your name.
With a shout and the sound of the trumpet we see Your glory.
Healed with Your Love from the inside out; we praise Your Name.
Glory be to God in the highest!
Glory be to God in the midst of pain!
Glory be to God in the inside out healing!
Glory be to God in all His Church!
--- --- ---
Prayer of the Day
I give You thanks for Your intimate presence in my life. I give You thanks for healing from the inside out. I give You thanks for bringing me out of my selfish sin to outward service and joy in You in Your Kingdom. I give You thanks for calling me before this world was created and choosing a special purpose for me. I give You thanks! ---Amen

I love to tell the story: how pleasant to repeat what seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet! I love to tell the story, for some have never heard the message of salvation from God's own holy word. You are my joy.
Go with me to tell the story.
Lord, I've got to go.
I've got a story to tell.
--- --- ---
Prayer of the Day
Wow! What a story You have given me to tell. Not only does Your story unfold in the pages of Scripture, but Your story unfolds in the days of my life. You are with me to lead and guide me. You are with me to walk with me through all the paths of life. You are with me. I need to tell someone about You. It's important. ---Amen
I love to tell the story: how pleasant to repeat what seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet! I love to tell the story, for some have never heard the message of salvation from God's own holy word. I love to tell the story; 'twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love. ("I Love to Tell the Story" - Text:Katherine Hankey, 1834-1911)
--- --- ---

Lord, I've got to go.
I'm in a hurry.
I've heard Your story and I've got to go tell someone.
You are Love. You are Grace.

October 15th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Christ builds a house of living stones: we are his own habitation; he fills our hearts, his humble thrones, granting us life and salvation. Where two or three will seek his face, he in their midst will show his grace, blessing upon them bestowing. ("Built on a Rock" - Text: Nikolai F. S. Grundtvig, 1783-1872; tr. Carl Doving, 1867-1937, adapt.)
--- --- ---
Readings of the Day
Revelation 15-Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty...
Esther 6.14-8.17-In each and every province and in each and every city, wherever the king's commandment and his decree arrived, there was gladness and joy for the Jews, a feast and a holiday.
Psalm 107.1-22-He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bands apart.
2 Kings 5.15-19a-Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel...
--- --- ---
God's Word of the Day
I am your God and You are the temple I have chosen to build. Unite together in My will and My way.
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
I praise You and all You have done throughout all ages.
You bring together the broken people in sin.
You build Your temple person by person.
United together You create the Church.
You fill this Church with Your Spirit.
You give each a calling.
You send us out into the world and continue to build the Temple.
Great and marvelous are Your works.
In joy and gladness we come together as Your Temple to do Your will.
Out of this rubble of fallen stone, You take away the shadow of death.
You resurrect the ruins into Your Temple.
Now I know that You are God.
We are Your Temple; we are Your Church.
Now and forever.
--- --- ---
Prayer of the Day
Lord, I come to You broken and in ruin. You pick me up, dust me off, repair me and use me as a part of Your Church. You put me with others and call me and send us out together to do Your will. Send me today. Lead and guide my steps. In Jesus, name. ---Amen

October 7th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
For now we peer at darkened glass; our visions end; our tongues all cease. In part we know, in part now see: then we will see love face to face. ("Although I Speak with Angel's Tongue" - Text: Andrew Donaldson, b. 1951)
--- --- ---
Readings of the Day
Revelation 7-They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any hear; for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Nehemiah 9.38-10.39-Thus we will not neglect the house of our God.
Psalm 102-But You are the same, and Your years will not come to an end.
Luke 17.5-10-So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, "We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done."
--- --- ---
God's Word of the Day
One day you will see. I will give you understanding. I will wipe every tear away. Have faith and do what I guide you to do.
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
Lord, I see Your great Light shining through the trees.
I see Your Light on that other side.
I don't quite see it clearly but I know it is present.
The branches of the trees get in the way.
Some day I will behold Your Light clearly.
I'm not sure if I will be able to stand to see Your glory.
I know I've got to go through this forest of trees to You.
I know You will walk me through and be with me.
Lead and guide me in the darkness.
Lead and guide me through the brush.
Keep me in Your safety from vicious animals.
Never allow me to neglect You or Your presence in this temple.
I place my hope in Your presence on that other side.
I see of the hope in Your presence with me now.
As I walk with you through these trees, I will do the things You command.
I trust You to lead and guide me and teach me the way.
For You are the same and You are eternal.
Lord, I see Your great Light shining through the trees.
Lord, I see You by my side.
Lord, I see You.
Lord, You alone are my Vision.
--- --- ---
Prayer of the Day
Lord, sometimes I think You are on the other side and I am all alone. Then I realize that You are by my side. With me in my pain. You take my pain, wiping my tears away. Yet I hear Your promise that every tear will be wiped away and know of the truth. I will follow Your command. I will follow Your voice. I am Your disciple. I will go in Your Love to those You give to me. Today and always. You are my Vision. You are my God! ---Amen

Psalm of the Day
Jesus, You are mine!
You are my Friend.
You are my Savior.
You are my Shepherd.
You are my King.
Jesus, You are mine!
Jesus, You are the Alpha and Omega.
You purchased my life.
You washed me in Your blood.
You provide a foretaste of the feast to come.
You are assurance and hope.
Jesus, You are the Alpha and Omega.
Jesus, You live forever.
In three days You rose from the dead.
You defeated, sin, death and the devil.
You are the Almighty, who is and who was and who is to come.
Jesus, You are my Eternal King.
Jesus, You live forever.
Jesus, I praise Your name.
I will sing a song of praise to You.
You are in my life now and forever.
You create a story out of my life.
I will tell that story all my days.
Jesus, I praise Your name.
