Hymn of the Day
Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love, show us how to serve the neighbors we have from you. Kneel at the feet of our friends, silently washing their feet: this is the way we will live with you. Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love, show us how to serve the neighbors we have from you. ("Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us with Your Love" - Text: Tom Colvin, 1925-2000, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Luke 22.39-71-Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength. In his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
Genesis 40-Do not interpretations belong to God?
Psalm 31-Let your face shine upon your servant; save me in your steadfast love.
Hebrews 11.23-28-He considered abuse suffered for the Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to the reward.
God's Word of the Day
I invite you out to serve with Me in My Kingdom. Here, I stand at your door, knocking. Let's go, now and serve others in love.
Psalm of the Day
Jesus, You show me how to serve.
You teach love and compassion.
You show me how to focus outward.
You place my focus on Your works of love and grace.
I will go with You now into Your Kingdom.
I will go with You as my mentor and guide.
I will go with You in trust to serve this Kingdom of Yours.
I will go and listen to Your interpretation.
In the midst of the pain, the blood and the anguish, You give strength.
You give will, compassion, committment and determination.
You make me able to stand when I want to fall down.
Yes! I will go! I'm ready!
Prayer of the Day
Jesus, You prepare me. I trust in Your preparation. I hear Your invitation. I'm ready to go serve with You. ---Amen

January 30th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Lord of glory, you have bought us with your lifeblood as the price, never grudging for the lost ones that tremendous sacrifice. Give us faith to trust you boldly, hope to stay our souls on you: but, oh, best of all your graces, with your love our love renew. ("Lord of Glory, You Have Bought Us" - Text: Eliza S. Alderson, 1818-1889, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Luke 22.1-38-I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I tell you, I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Genesis 39-And Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined; he remained there in prison. but the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love...
Psalm 30-Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Judges 7.12-22-So the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the jars, holding in their left hands the torches, and in their right hands the trumpets to blow; and they cried, "A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!" Every man stood in his place all around the camp, and all the men in camp ran; they cried out and fled.
God's Word of the Day
Let My Love live through you. I fulfill all love. I am with you in prison and through the night and will bring an awesome joy in the morning. Stand firm in Me and let My Love live through you.
Psalm of the Day
There's that pit again.
Sometimes I fall into the pit due to my own pride.
Other times, even when I'm being faithful, up jumps this pit.
I fall into the pit.
Why? Why, Lord why?
Now I know that it's not my good works that keeps me out of the pit.
What's the plan now?
But then I find You with me in the pit once again.
With me teaching me.
With me molding me into something.
Even here in this pit You are using me.
You feed me Your body and blood.
You sustain me with awesome bread and wine.
In this pit, You become a part of me.
Through the tears shed in this pit, You bring joy in the morning.
Through the tomb of death, You passed through stone to give morning Life to all.
So, this pit is nothing to You.
This pit is just another way for You to change me from death to life.
I give my life to You in this pit.
Take my life and kill me to myself.
Take my life and change me into the Life You want.
Set me up, strong and convicted and committed to You.
I take my stand for You.
In the pit or out of the pit, You are My Savior.
Thanks be to God!
Hear the trumpet sound!
See the Light shining brightly through the stone walls of the pit.
Shout for joy and the defeat of sin and death.
Break the jar of sin.
Watch the enemy collapse and fall.
There's that pit again.
There's My Savior!
Prayer of the Day
Lord, in the pit or out of the pit, You are with me. Use me, build me, give me courage to take a stand. In the pit or out of the pit, You are God! ---Amen

The people walk throughout the world together and cry out, "Come, O Lord"; the people who long to claim the promise, God's liberating Word. The life blood of the world is shed in mindless war; and families desire a home where conflicts cease. With all the world we lift our hands in hope to you, O God of peace, The people walk throughout the world together and cry out, "Come, O Lord"; the people who long to claim the promise, God's liberating Word. ("The People Walk" - Text:;; Juan A Espinosa, b. 1940; tr. Martin A Seltz, b. 1951)

Psalm 29-May the LORD bless his people with peace!
Luke 1.67-79-He has raised up a mighty savior...
God's Word of the Day
You are always competing for your own advantage. Stop and listen to My Word. Focus on Me, then focus on another.

War and hatred, sin and evil.
Selfishness and pride.
I focus on the wrong things for the wrong reasons.
Forgive me, Lord.
Let me focus on Your Word.
Let me focus on the cross.
Let me focus on the Source of Life.
Let me focus on You.
Teach me love and compassion.
Teach me how to be humble and kind.
Teach me forgiveness.
Give me strength.
Give me hope.
Bless me with peace.
Send me to others to love and forgive.
Send me to proclaim Your changing grace.
Send me in Your name, renewed, forgiven and recreated.

January 28th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Cure your children's warring madness; bend our pride to your control; shame our wanton, selfish gladness rich in things and poor in soul. Grant us wisdom, grant us courage lest we miss your kingdom's goal, lest we miss your kingdom's goal. ("God of Grace and God of Glory" - Text: Harry E. Fosdick, 1878-1969)
Readings of the Day
Luke 20.27-47-Now he is God not of the dead, but of the living; for to him all of them are alive.
Genesis 37-So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe, the long robe with sleeves that we wore; and they took him and threw him into a pit. The pit was empty; there was no water in it.
Psalm 28-To you, O LORD, I call; my rock, do not refuse to hear me, for if you are silent to me, I shall be like those who go down to the Pit.
Judges 6.11-24-Peace be to you; do not fear, you shall not die.
God's Word of the Day
You may be thrown into the pit, but do not fear. I come to draw you from the pit. You will not die, but I will pull you up and use you to My glory.
Psalm of the Day
Somehow, I manage to do it every time.
I get myself thrown into the pit.
Sometimes I walk right into that pit.
I know I deserve it.
But I hate this pit.
I hate this separation from You, Lord.
Pull me out of the pit.
Save me with Your gracious Love.
How I need You to pull me out of the pit.
I trust in You to save me and draw me out of this pit.
Save me from this war of mine.
Save me from my selfishness and pride.
Save me from myself.
Put my sinful, selfishness to death that I may once again live in You.
Somehow I manage to do this every time.
Pull me from this pit!
In You alone I place all trust and hope.
Pull me from this pit!
Prayer of the Day
Lord, save me and pull me from the pit. I hear Your call. I feel the fire in my belly to serve You. Pull me from the pit and use me this day, I pray. ---Amen

January 23rd Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
In our hymns we pray with longing: Grant us, blessed Trinity, at the last to keep glad Easter with the faithful saints on high; there to you forever singing alleluia joyfully. ("Alleluia, Song of Gladness" - Text:Latin hymn, 11th cent,; tr. John Mason Neale, 1818-1866, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Luke 18.1-17-People were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they sternly ordered them not to do it. But Jesus called for them and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it."
Genesis 29.31-30.43-Then Jacob took fresh rods of poplar and almond and plane, and peeled white streaks in them, exposing the white of the rods. He set the rods that he had peeled in front of the flocks in the troughs, that is, the watering places, where the flocks came to drink, And since they bred when they came to drink, the flocks bred in front of the rods, and so the flocks produced young that were striped, speckled, and spotted.
Psalm 23-Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days on my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD my whole life long.
Matthew 9.14-17-Neither is new wine put into old wineskins; otherwise, the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins are destroyed; but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.
God's Word of the Day
I have been before your eyes all of your life. I have been here with you before you were born. Focus on My Glory. Focus on My Love. Focus on the cross. Focus on Me and I will recreate in you something new.
Psalm of the Day
I revel in Your eternal presence.
I glory in Your Love.
You welcome me as an infant into Your arms.
You gift me and call me Your own.
You baptize me with cleansing waters of joy out of Your love.
You stay before my eyes all my life long.
You bring peace and comfort when I'm weary.
You bring rest and fill my cup.
You bless me with Your saving body and blood.
You stay before my eyes at all times.
When I feel apart and alone...I turn.
I turn and find You were always there with me.
May I always run and jump and play with You in Your Kingdom.
Day after day in joy and thanksgiving, we serve.
Day after day out of the love You teach, we love.
Pour out the Love of Your Wine and Blood into these new wineskins.
Pour Your wine and fill me all my life-long.
From beginning to end be in me.
Stay before my eyes all through life's journey.
Prayer of the Day
I give You thanks for Your presence. From beginning to end and beyond, You are faithful and true. I love to have You always before my eyes. ---Amen

But the father said to his slaves, "Quickly, bring out a robe--the best one--and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. And get the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; for this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!" And thy began to celebrate.
Genesis 27.1-45-...but when you break loose, you shall break his yoke from your neck.
Psalm 20-...our pride is in the name of the LORD our God.
John 1.29-42-Look, here is the Lamb of God!

Psalm of the Day
Oh, how I sin!
I sin in things I do and things I don't do.
I sin in neglect.
I sin on purpose.
Hear my confession, Lord.
Forgive my sinfulness and save me.
I turn and run to You.
You know of my return and run to me.
I just don't get that part!
Your love is amazing!
You run to me and save me from myself.
Then You show such great and awesome love.
You are truly the Lamb of God!
You are the sacrifice for my sin.
I just don't get it sometimes.
I sin and You break the yoke of my sin and set me free.
In joy I run with You and do Your bidding.
In joy I praise Your name and proclaim Your glory.
In joy we run together in Your Kingdom.
From the mountain to the valley I run with You.
Thanks be to God!
Prayer of the Day
Thanks...You bring me such great joy! ---Thanks ---Amen

My Walk with Jesus the week of January 14th
Comment: The past couple of weeks I have been involved with a group at my church Epiphany Lutheran Church where a group of us have been walking and contemplating towards a combined walking mileage to Jerusalem in preparation for Lent. Along the way we reflect on particular items. This past week I have been hospitalized and wrote this special reflection.
I was hospitalized this past week for a third bout with Crohn’s in the past few months and a second bout bringing with it a bowel obstruction in the past two weeks. From Sunday until at least now early Thursday morning, I did little to no physical walking whatsoever.
However, there was much walking taking place.
As I reflect on the Journey of the Magi towards Jesus years ago and compare and contrast some traveling that I felt take place this week to this time early in the morning of Thursday; I stop and reflect. No, Magi travelling from the east didn’t visit me. However Jesus visited me through his walking to me in many and various ways. I dare to estimate that Jesus walking for me at least amounted to hundreds of miles but in reality maybe even an infinite number of miles. You see, this week, Jesus has walked to me.
I noticed the pain of an oncoming attack right about lunchtime after church on Sunday. In an attempt to sleep it off that failed, I turned to my wife, Sue for help. A call to the doctor then a trip to the hospital.
Jesus walked to me and with me as my wife, Sue, graciously took me to the emergency room of Atrium Medical Center around 7pm. Sue, and various ER nurses walked with me and to me in the ER to relieve pain, to transport my bed, to take x-rays and to bring comfort. Jesus walking in the shoes of various loving, working, people taking care of me while I was in pain easily rating that ten they ask about. Jesus coming to me to take blood tests. Jesus steering my bed through the hallways to the hospital room.
Jesus coming to me to care for the IV’s and the tube running into my stomach to relieve pressure. Jesus was visiting me each morning through Dr. Stone and each afternoon through Dr. Sharma. Jesus walking to me through countless hours of the night, checking my blood pressure, my temperature, my sugar levels and so many other things I can’t even recall. Jesus was coming to me each day through Ray Cary and a Hospital Chaplain with prayer. Jesus coming to me as I reflected, prayed and studied my Bible. Jesus walking to my bedside in Psalms I wrote while in bed. Jesus walking by my side and feeling the pain I felt and knowing what I was going through. Jesus walking to me in phone calls from friends at work, from friends from home and from my friend and boss Mark Eads with care and comfort in this down time of mine. Jesus speaks me through John Payne through his telephone calls. Jesus came to me in cards from friends Sylvia and Hans Lenski and the Women of the ELCA. Jesus speaking to me through my Mother over the phone. Jesus coming to me in my family, Bryan, Sarah, Stephanie, Devin, Becky, Connie and Jesus especially walking to me in my new granddaughter Kaiya with her peaceful smiles and her relaxing careless sleep in my arms. Jesus walking to me each day through my wife Sue. Jesus walking to me through Nurses, and PCA’s and so many caregivers it’s hard for me to recall all of them. Jesus walking to me in Nurses in training from Sinclair. Jesus walking with me in the halls to tests and procedures.
Did I walk this week? I know so. You see, I walked with Jesus by my side this entire week. Jesus walked with me through the pain and in the recovery showing me how he heals from the inside out. Jesus comes to me, walking side by side and then into my heart. Jesus walked straight into my heart to begin the healing process from the inside out. Jesus was travelling much further than those Magi from the east. Jesus walking steadily beyond space and into my very being, calling me His child and loving me as His own. Jesus on that infinite walk of miles into my heart and soul showing me a compassion and love beyond any comprehension of my human understanding. Jesus walking to me calling me and teaching me a compassion and love that He wishes all of us to let go from the inside out. Healing from the inside out through His walk to me.
Sure, I walked this week. Many many miles. But what counts more than anything that I ever walked is that Jesus walked countless miles to and for me. And in this walk I give Him all thanks and praise.
And as I reflect on this Lenten-walking journey, I think of one more walk Jesus took in His pain and for all of us. Jesus walked the streets of Jerusalem dragging that cross as far as he could to die for me and for you, and give His life for yours and mine. You see Jesus became our sin on that cross and put that sin to death. In the giving of His life, in the death, Jesus brought Life to the entire world. So in this walk this week, I give my life. I know I will experience pain, but I know Jesus knows what that pain is and I gladly die to myself knowing of a Love and Compassion that brings Life from death.
Thanks be to God! And thanks be to Jesus for His walk into my life and into my heart even in the midst of pain.
Now I know how to walk in love and compassion for others.

What joy to know, when life is past, the Lord we love is first and last, the end and the beginning! He will one day, oh, glorious grace, transport us to that happy place beyond all tears and sinning! Amen! Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! Crown of gladness! We are yearning for the day of your returning. ("O Morning Star, How Fair and Bright" - Text:Philipp Nicolai, 1556-1608; tr, Lutheran Book of Worship)

Let Your Light illumine my heart so all can see Your Light in me.
Chase the darkness of sin from my center.
Replace my darkness with Your glorious Light.
I die to my darkness and You replace that darkness with Your Light.
How I love the Light!
In dreams You protect me and guide me.
You show me the way with Your Light.
You are Light!
You are Salvation!
Jesus, my Light and my Salvation.
Send now Your Spirit and let Your Light shine!

Light shone in darkness at the world's creation, bathing in beauty nature's revelation. All that has being cry in adoration, "Praise for the light. Amen!" ("Light Shone in Darkness" - Text:Delores Dufner, OSB, b. 1939)

Genesis 19-But he lingered; so the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and left him outside the city.
Psalm 12-On every side the wicked prowl, as vileness is exalted among humankind.

I bring Light into your dark and sinful world. I bring Light into your dark and sinful being. I create something new. Hear My voice full of majesty.
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
Lord, I'm surrounded by evil.
I'm surrounded by evil and wickedness in this world.
I'm surrounded by sin without and sin within.
Rescue me from what is around me.
Rescue me from what is within me.
Bring Light to my darkness.
Bathe my dark world with the Light of Your salvation.
Be merciful, Lord!
Wash me clean of my sin and evil.
Create a safe path for me to travel in this sinful world.
Give me the courage to stand for Your way.
Grant me the perseverance I need to survive.
I can only make it through this with You.
I can't do this on my own!
I need You!
Your voice is powerful.
Your voice is majestic.
Let Your voice ring true and clear that I may hear You.
Let Your saving grace keep me safe in time of trouble.
Lead me through temptation and save me.
Praise for the Light!
Praise for the Voice!
Amen!

January 8th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Vainly we offer each ample oblation, vainly with gifts would his favor secure; richer by far is the heart's adoration, dearer to God are the prayers of the poor.
--- --- ---
Readings of the Day
Luke 9.1-27-Then he said to them all, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me, For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it. What does it profit them if they gain the whole world, but lose or forfeit themselves?"
Genesis 15-"Look toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them."
Psalm 8-When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
1 Kings 10.14-25-The whole earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind.
--- --- ---
God's Word of the Day
I AM so much greater than you could ever imagine. Look to the stars and ponder creation. Look to the earth and see the detail. You could never give me enough. I seek you to give Me yourself, humble and poor as you are. I created you unique and perfect for what I have planned. I place my gifts within in you. Now use them to My glory.
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
Why are You mindful of me?
When I look to the stars and see the greatness of creation, I wonder...
Why are You mindful of me?
When I look to the earth and see the detail of your creation, I wonder...
Why are You mindful of me?
I could never shower enough gifts on You to satisfy.
Why are You mindful of me?
Yet You treasure the prayers of the poor.
Why are You mindful of me?
I adore Your glory and power and might.
Why are You mindful of me?
You tell me to deny myself and follow you.
Why are You mindful of me?
You beckon me to take up my cross and follow You.
Why are You mindful of me?
You gift me with unique gifts to be used to Your glory.
Why are You mindful of me?
I lose myself to You.
With eternal thanks, I'm so glad, You are mindful of me!
--- --- ---
Prayer of the Day
God of all creation. God of this universe. I'm so glad You are mindful of me. It's beyond what I can fathom. I give my life to You. I take up this wonderful gift and cross and gladly follow You. ---Amen

January 7th Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Hymn of the Day
Holy Jesus, every day keep us in the narrow way; and when earthly things are past, bring our ransomed souls at last where they need no star to guide, where
no clouds thy glory hide. ("As with Gladness Men of Old" - Text:William C. Dix,1837-1898, alt.)
Readings of the Day
Luke 8.26-56-Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.
Genesis 13-14-Now the Valley of Siddim was full of bitumen pits; and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some fell into them, and the rest fled to the hill country.
Psalm 7-They make a pit, digging it out, and fall into the hole that they have made.
1 Kings 10.1-13-...but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it.
God's Word of the Day
I will lead you and guide you to Me. Actually I find you, you do not find Me. Be careful of the tar pits and the traps you build yourself along the way. I will show Myself to you. You will know Me with your own eyes.
Psalm of the Day
I build some traps in my life and fall into them myself.
How foolish I am!
I try to trap another and end up trapping myself!
I run from the battle and fall into the tar pits.
How foolish I am!
I know that You are with me in the battle.
Yet sometimes I run.
Sometimes I don't trust in Your presence.
Forgive my unbelief.
You show me the way to You.
You light the narrow path I am to follow.
Help me to go the way You wish for me to go.
Help me to come to You by the path You have chosen for me to come.
I know that You are really the one who comes to me.
I know that only through You am I saved.
Yet You take me down this path.
You lead me to Yourself.
And I learn that along that path to You...
You were with me all the way.
And in the end you will bring me to Yourself.
A ransomed soul at last.
Thanks be to God!
But for now...
I follow that Light.
I follow that path.
I do Your will.
I walk Your way.
I believe with my own eyes.
I run to return and tell of a Mighty Savior.
Prayer of the Day
I'm so glad You have made life a journey for me. By the tar pits. Through my own traps. Lead and guide me on Your narrow way. Lead me through this life. Ransom my soul along the way. You are my Savior. You are my God! ---Amen

Readings of the Day

Psalm 5-O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you, and watch.
Psalm 72-For he delivers the needy when they call, and the poor and those who have no helper.
God's Word of the Day
I wany you to point to My Son Jesus. Point your light to His Light. Show the world what He has done for you in your life.
Psalm of the Day
Make me that star that rests over the place of Jesus.
Make my life lead others to see Jesus presence.
Use me to point to the Savior of all the world.
Use me to show and tell what Jesus has done for me.
Let me never believe that it's about me, that I can build myself a tower to heaven.
Let me show the world that it's all about how Jesus came down to us.
Came down to be one of us and save us.
He delivers the needy when they call and helps the poor when in need.
How I know that you have forgiven me much.
How I rejoice in what You do for me.
Make me that star that rests over the place of Jesus.

You can only eat from the Tree of Life because I come to you. You can't do this on your own. You must have faith in Jesus life giving action. Give your heart, your life to me. In this faithful giving; I give you life, only through what Jesus has done. It's not about what you do, it's about what I have done.
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
It's not about me, it's all about You.
You saved me. You gave Your life for me.
Only through You do I have access to the Tree of Life.
Only through the action of Jesus can I come to that Tree of Life.
In the Cross is the Tree of Life.
It's Your action in Love- not my action in obedience.
Only through faith in You can I live.
I give my heart and yes my very life to You.
I have faith that in the giving, You will save me.
Your action, not mine...
In Your awesome Love, trembling, I serve You and kiss Your feet.
You are my God, my Savior, my King, my Lord.
It's not about me, it's all about You.
--- --- ---
Prayer of the Day
Forgive me, Lord, when I think it's about the "good" things I do. When I think about the pious things I do. It's not about me. I can't save myself by being good or pious. I must turn to You and rely in faith on what You do. It's not about me, it's all about You. ---Amen
What..can I give him, poor...as I am? If I were a shepherd I would bring a lamb; if I were a wise...man I would do my part; yet what I can I give him---give my heart. ("In the Bleak Midwinter" - Text:Chirstina Georgina Rossetti, 1830-1894)

January 1st Daily Hymn, Readings, Word, Psalm and Prayer
Note: If you followed along with all of the readings this past year; congratulations, you have read the entire Bible! At the beginning of each year, I like to switch translations from which I read and quote. Last year I used the New American Standard Bible (NASB) Life Application Study Bible, this year I will be using the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) The Harper Collins Study Bible. I'm looking forward to another wonderful year to walk through the Word with My Lord and Savior. You are invited to walk along side and comment along the way. Happy New Year! Thanks be to God!
Just a note on the format I am using currently: Each year in June, I like to change the format of my reflections. Since this past June, I have been reading hymns and making a particular verse part of my readings (Hymn of the Day)---next are the Daily Readings that progress through the Bible in one year along with a final reading appropriate to the Church Season from the ELCA daily readings (Readings of the Day)---I will pause and reflect on what I have read both from the hymn and the Bible and ponder what Word I have heard from God spoken to me (God's Word of the Day)---Then I write a psalm, or something that reflects what I have felt move me during this time with God (Psalm of the Day)---Finally a prayer to end my reflection (Prayer of the Day).
My reflections are quick and simple. I don't spend much time worrying about typos, grammar or mistakes, so you will have to forgive any you see and "go with the flow."
Past Reflections have taken various forms. All my reflections from the past several years can be viewed on my blogsite www.dlyrflctns.blogspot.com ---You are welcome to use them in any way you wish. Since they are on the web, I welcome public use also.
I hope you will be richly blessed and God will speak to you through these reflections. It's a wonderful journey and a great time to play in the Kingdom of God with a special Friend that comes knocking at my door each morning and asking, "Can Billy come out to play?"
Let's play!
Hymn of the Day
Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere; go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born! Down in a lonely manger the humble Christ was born; and God sent us salvation that blessed Christmas morn. Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere; go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born!

Readings of the Day
Luke 5.27-39-And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins and will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.
Genesis 1-2-Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness, God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
Psalm 1-Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.
Luke 2.15-21-The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

God's Word of the Day
I AM born in you. You are new wineskin and I will pour My Spirit of Wine into you. Now go, tell what I have done in your life. Go! Tell!
--- --- ---
Psalm of the Day
You call the humble shepherd to You to witness Your Love, Your Word made flesh.
You call me, Your humble servant to witness Christ to the world.
You come and are born in me each and every day.
You make me into something new.
You fill me with Your Spiritual Wine.
You nourish me with Your Food.
How can I help but to run and tell the world of all You have done for me?
How can I help but to point to the Light of all in Jesus.
A Light that is infinitely more bright than that light You created in the sun.
I tell of a Light that stands alone. A Light that brings eternal and spiritual guidance.
I will always point to that Light of Christ.
Run and tell from the mountains, in the valleys, in the caves, and everywhere about the Light of Christ.
You call me to tell and I will tell because You have made me sooooo happy!
I'm so glad to tell what You have done!
Praise the birth long ago and praise the birth to me this day!
Thanks be to God!
--- --- ---
Prayer of the Day
I'm so glad You make me new each day of the year. Made new like a newborn baby. Be born in me today. You make me happy. Happy to run and tell and shout and scream Your praises throughout the earth! Happy New Year! Happy New Birth! ---Amen
